    The person who I quoted stated that the club does not embrace it's roots as much as the supporters do, I don't agree with that.

    Yes the club could maybe do a lot more to engage Irish supporters, games in Ireland would be good, but I think the club has to do more to engage all of our support.

    You could accuse some fans of not embracing our roots but not the Club.

    You stated that the club does not embrace its roots as much as the supporters do, I replied to you asking you to state what the club should be doing that it is currently not, to "embrace its roots". You replied by asking me what it is doing. If you make statements ye have to be prepared to back them up. Now you say I haven't answered your question. :smiley-laughing002:

    My question was, in reply to your statement, what is it you think the Club should be doing, that it currently is not, to "embrace its roots"?

    Answer mine first then I will counter argue yer points. :50:

    I watched the BT sport coverage of tonight's game , and you could clearly see the United fans setting off a flare . I wonder if the media will be as vocal/visible with their condemnation of these fans , as they were with the Celtic away fans last weekend ? I don't really think so somehow . But of course I'm a paranoid Celtic fan .
    United fans had a sizable pyro' display at a cup tie last season , and their fans also had a mini pitch invasion at Airdrie last weekend as well as the flare tonight :87:

    That was one of two that they set off. Within 30 seconds of each other, not a steward or polis went anywhere near them. Every Celtic fan was tapped down before goin through turnstiles too, were they? Doubtful.

    There is a slight chance I have confused you with another poster and I'm too tipsy to bother to check.

    we live in neo fascist times mate so its no wonder that fans and club are being made to eradicate their past cultural identities to be part of the future profits of the corporate rulers

    political correctness is a clever model of projected brainwashing by government and corporate power

    1984

    if your clubs and fans don't all sing from the same SAFE NON REBELIOUS hymn sheet then no prosperity for you in-fact sanctions will instead be your reward.

    at a time when the professional football league in scotland has been teetering on the precipice Celtics custodians are NERVOUS

    we all know rangers transformed massively into an anti republican, anti catholic, anti irish immigrant HATING CLUB from the protestant fathers of scotland espousing their hatred of irish catholics and how dare they flee to another land so as not to starve and to be able to work eat and feed their families.

    everyone knows in their heart that celtic are not the baddies in this crazy tale but we will always be the immigrants in scotland to all the hierarchies and we will always be the first and loudest to be punished

  9. Funnily enough, that was a cup game on Sky last year, yet no mention. I remember watching it..

    Yet Tanner and co, aren't even at the game but gleeing with joy at going over to the game to report it..

    It happens every week in England, yes England and much worse all over Europe but let's victimize and focus on a couple sporadically thrown from Celtic supporters. That record clip of us and that foreign mob sums them all up..

    * absolute scum. * stain *..

    all about blackening our name to all in the land

    especially since they lost went bust and wee won hahahahahahahahahaha

    so this is revenge, it also makes the bitter blue noses feel valued, feel better as they can't be happy unless they get out that hate

    the tabloids and media in scotland are bigoted hateful * that are not happy unless we are getting skelped

    You are right.

    Saying on the radio this afternoon plenty of smoke bombs going off at St Johnstone v Hibs. Both ends. Lets see the newspaper outrage tomorrow...

    It's an almost certainty that there will be little coverage , if any , in the Scottish press . They show themselves up in so many ways . And not always in a very subtle way .
    Another reason for avoiding buying a newspaper .
    I have gone without buying a paper for a few years now . Apart from a ( very ) local weekly paper . They can't keep up with news as well as TV or radio , they are biased , sometimes parochial and often inaccurate . Long may their power and position diminish .

    For all the chat about no action being taken against any fans of other Scottish clubs who let off flares? An 18 year old Motherwell fan has been given a five month jail term for letting of a flare against Accies, as well as a two year football banning order.

    Overlooking the fact that the guy was a soldier and a Motherwell fan, he seems by all accounts to have had no previous criminal record.

    Alarming stuff. If this can happen to an 18 year old with no record and who's commanding officer in the British army was willing to vouch for him, imagine what'll happen the first time we see someone with an Irish-y name and a few minors on his record pulled up for it?

    The Judge in the case said this in his closing address;

    The lads that attend our away games had better watch themselves.

  14. Good. He was banned and stupid enough to let a flare off, not a very bright boy.

    You would probably not be treated as harshly as that in Ireland if you were convicted of attempted murder with a clean record.

    Jail time for letting off a smoke bomb ? Its good to know that is what our publicly funded HMP`s are being used for.

    What is this world coming to? It's frightening to know that a jail term was handed out for this.

    Madness.
