Was wondering if anybody knows anything about the league split?? Was having a look at the teams who are currently in the top 6 and the way fixtures have already gone so far this season. We still play hearts and aberdeen at home and travel away to livingston. presuming that the top 6 teams dont change by the time the split comes, it will constist of...

    Celtic
    Scotlands second team
    Hibs
    Aberdeen
    Hearts
    Motherwell

Outside of hibs, we've played all these teams twice at home this season. This would mean we would play away at ipox, pitodrie, firpark and tynecastle? surely there must be some sort of re-arranging formula set to take place. other than being unfair that we have only one remaining home game left of the season, season tickets are surely ment to guarentee an even number of games??

This 'split' buisness is well beyond me! what the fu0k is going on?

Anybody know when the games get decided or fixtures are sorted?

The split is an absolute waste of time...trying to make the league more glamorous than it is...

The top 6 teams playing each other....what a laugh...there are only ever 2 teams in it anyway...

Its a pile of mince......and its mentalwhen one team can finish above another with less points...takes the whole meaning out of League...

That doesnt seem to add up? So many away games and one at home. And of course it's the opposite for the huns is it not? They play all them teams at home and Hibs away??

split isney worth a * man we'll probably get the most away games so we cannae win the league at home and it was either last season or season b4 the team in 7th finished the league with more points then the team in 6th

I think the incentive for the also-rans is that to finish in the top 6 means you play the big bhyoys again.....gate revenues.

The whole SPL is * in my opinion. The split is bollox. Why also not just admit that we live in a * cold country and that we should play a summer league like the Eircom League do in the Republic. They have just started their league on March 18th and it runs to November 19th. Makes sense to me. NO more stuck on the A9 or matches being called off 2 hours before kick off.

As for the objection that it affect Euro games, thats bollox as well. The point is we have always moaned about not having enough league practise when playing Euro qualifiers in August. Nothing better to be well tuned up and playing like a team when the CL kicks off.

I reckon the SFA had all that thought out to make our run in tougher than theirs, but then I am paranoid.

@ HH - latin fan, eh? "What impropriety or limit can there be in our grief for a man so beloved?" The wonders of Horance in the benefits of a grammar school education!?!

Oh *, rumbled again. I was a huge fan of 'Ecce Romani' at school in Coatbridge where Latin was compulsory, and Italian and French. Pity they never worked on my English...and hey what about Gaelic (Scots), I think it should be part of the curriculum until at least end of 2nd year.

I think there is a limit of 3 away games for any side following the split or 3 home games. Guess who will get the three home games. Errrmmmmm!! :39:

And just to see if the maisons, sorry SFA, can help scotlands second team any more this season... whats the chances our 3 away games will be huns, aberdeen and hearts? probably the 3 hardest games in the spl.

    You know it's coming!

  12. that's happened a few times, the 7th team should still have been able to move up the table. they should have the 6 top teams at the time when they are decided. they should let other teams into 5th and 6th or whatever but they'd still play the bottom six teams from when they decided the fixtures. ah know how hard this is to understand! lol!
