i read that everton were originally liverpools irish catholic club, so they have a connection with celtic in that sense.

But liverpool and celtic have always been very close , same YNWA song and passionate supporters

Not everything boils down to Celtic and Rangers, catholic and protestant. Why does it matter which is more like Celtic, whatever you mean by that?

    NEITHER

Got dogs abuse at Anfield wearing my Hoops when at a Liverpool game.

Didnt ever take to Everton, mainly due to them having Richard Gough, Walter Smith & Druncan Ferguson.

    Hello,
I'm an Evertonian with a bit of a soft spot for celtic.
I think us Evertonians and Liverpudlians also have had a special relationship with Scottish players and managers having has some fantastic players such as Alex Young, Graeme Sharp, Andy Gray, Duncan Ferguson, Davey Moyes (manager) and Liverpool with Shankly, Dalglish, Hansen etc.

Good luck with finding a new manager but stay away from the ginger Messiah!!!

We share the religious origin link with Everton but I would say in every other sense we are closer to Liverpool. I think the link between Celtic and Liverpool was sealed by having the match between the two teams at Parkhead after the Hillsborough disaster. That touched the hearts of many Liverpool fans and is remembered by many to this day.

I much prefer Liverpool to Everton so I'm quite happy that we seem to have more of a bond with the Reds than the Blues.

Everton any day! just cause they sing also ynwa dosent mean anything. Having lived here for the past 2 years its a no brainer for myself. But, in terms of religion it dosent matter with liverpool or everton. However, it is known that a lot of the irish immigrant who settled here followed everton back in the day. In fact, when i go to see everton with my mates (season ticket holders at goodison) i did see the tri-colour over on the park stand end...
