Empty seats in champions league games

Have always wondered this , why is the area behind both goals always left empty during champions league games, anyone know why this is?

 

Something to do with UEFA rule I think. Front two rows are kept empty and can't be sold.

Same as goalies can't have their names on their gloves either * bammy rules!

I thought it was this but then noticed we always bring in different advertising boards that are bigger than normal. Is it because you can't see over them?

 

It's always something that's annoyed me tbh. That's a few hundred fans that are missing out on the game.

 

Thats it in a nutshell, the UEFA boards are much higher than the standard ones and makes the first view rows impossible to see anything so this is the sole reason they are empty, that's said as everyone stands up you might just get away with it but I suppose the club won't sell them on that basis as legally they could be prosecuted if you can't see a thing whilst seated, sadly in this climate some lemon is always looking to do that and the club are playing it safe I would imagine

 

We should just sell the seats anyway at a highly reduced price. Even if there's limited visibility, if the big screens are working you could watch the game on that.

 

It's annoying because it ruins the absolute bedlam behind the goal when we score because the camera can't catch it.
