(unless killie can do us the biggest favour of all time)

I'm not a big Samaras fan but even world class players miss penalties and he didnt actually miss it, McGregor saved it.

We had it in our hands but we threw it away against Inverness, the entire team were to blame for that. Samaras didnt even play.

I think I know what looks to have cost us the title...... We had three home games in a row against Dundee United, Inverness and Kilmarnock near the end of 2010 and we drew all three. Thats 6 points dropped at home in the space of 3 games.

What do you think has more than likely cost us the title and please dont say Georgios * Samaras!!

I agree, penalties are mostly a game of luck (provided you hit them well, and Sammy did). McGregor guessed right. Whereas the team as a whole underpeformed for 90 minutes in Inverness, and Sammy didn't even play. He's the least to blame of all.

Naw, the title was in our hands coming away from the pigsty.

It is clear to see the result that changed the season.

It didn't cost us the title no, but i believe our tactics should have been better in that game anyway. The whole season where we have dropped points has cost us the title not one penalty miss.

no. its the entire teams fault for underperforming in defeats and draws that should never have happened.

not that in itself but i do remember thinking at the time that could cost us big time. december was bad for us, but at the same time in a way it helped us beat them at new year because we were such underdogs.
    december
    missed penalty
    ict away
those are the main factors (IF we lose the league?!)

It wasn't Samaras fault IMO. He struck the ball well to the right of McGregor.
McGregor made a fantastic save, and that save may well have won the league for Rangers. At least Samaras hit the target, unlike Hooper who puts his by the post. I am still not convinced that anyone else would have scored with that penalty.

For me, the loss to Hearts at Tynecastle was fatal.

We can't blame Samaras fs. If he never scored they 2 goals at mordor in January we probably wouldn't be taking this to the last day.

It was the whole teams fault on Wednesday that cost us it.

Sometimes titles come down to defining moments. The penalty miss was crucial. It would have given us a pretty much unassailable lead. Much as it pains me to say though, the league table never lies. If R*****s win then it will be because they have been the best side this season.

They havent played as good football as us, but they will have won more points, and that is what it is all about.

So the penalty may have won us the league, but I dont think it cost us. It was all the daft points against teams we really should have beaten comfortably. Thats a mentality that we dont have yet. Its easy for players to get up for the big games, against the Orcs, but we need to do it for the wee teams as well, which we have struggled with.

    Samaras miss made it harder but;

    I Blame...

The defence for not holding out Dundee Utd at home
The defence for not holding out Caley at home
The defence for not holding out Killie at home
The defence for coneeding sloppy goes away at Caley

I wouldn't blame him if we don't win the title. we dropped points in other games too based on many individual errors.

However if he had scored, we certainly would win the league this season though.

Nope, it was in our hands until we never turned up against Inverness.

Not to mention drawing 3 games in a row in November and December.

We got beat at home to Rangers and away to Motherwell.

There's more and more but there will still be people that would pin the blame on Samaras.

the loss at ICT was the downfall to the league going to the huns yet again! its the same pattern everytime we play the huns, celtic loose to the huns celtic go onto the next game and win or celtic put in 110% come away with a point or all 3 and then the next game we loose its pathetic! its didnt help samaras missed the pen in the last old firm but * happens Celtic should of gone to ICT and gone into that game thinking we win this the league is in our hands but they didnt even bother to put in a decent performance infact they was lazy and didnt look like a title winning team!
