Noticed that alot of fans on here have been brainwashed with lawells talk of we cant be another leeds utd and we have to look for hidden gems etc,i cant believe this as all of the dummys they have bought at 500k and frees with signing on fees probably adds up to alot of money which could have bought quality.I am thinking of guys like fletcher and mcarthy and kevin doyle when he was at reading, this final week or so in the transfer window will show our ambition and more importantly what the board value more money or the fans.

In terms of £ notes yes- could we find better 'gems' maybe! Remember at it's potential and a full 1st team line up- we actually have quite a good team!!!!

No. Its just too tight. No need to be so tight we only have 2 strikers who score goals in our squad or the clown-like CH options we have. That is clearly wrong and short sited. If we had signed those players 3 years ago we would be looking for 7 in a row now.

The fact is, Dermot Desmond calls himself a Celtic man and he rarely dips his hands into his pockets. It's great unearthing gems, but at times like these, we NEED to spend some cash:31:

There should be no reason that we can't spend £5 million every summer:54::38:

even if we do spend it reminds me of when rangers when out and spent about 10 million after kaunas pumped the out of europe ,but they have went on and one 3 in a row, i wonder how many players john park has spotted and we have lost out because they cost 3 or 4 million and not under a million

The policy has remained the same for the past 3 or 4 years. Most business we have done has been self financed through transfer income.

    We are, quite simply, cheapskates.

I hope we are not found out again this year as, if we are Peter will wonder where his season ticket sales have gone next year.

When was the last time you seen a "Balance Sheet" hold a trophy aloft ????

Were the only * club Obsessed about keeping debt down. Meantime we have that Irish Lord Lucan wont * dip into his fortune to buy some players. If he claims to love the club that much then do it or sell his shares.

I'm sick of our transfer policy, this blatant lack of ambition is so depressing. I'm not saying we should be reckless but just that we bit of a gamble would be nice.

i think we must be the only football club who has 2 billionares on the board and we are lucky to spend 4 million a season ,i think these guys should either put up or step aside and let other people with money who want to invest in the team.

We are lucky to be spending 1 million net a season let alone 4, last season we spent 10 million on players while bringing in over 15, in their current mindset the board will only spend money if we sell a player.

Definitely think we'll be screwed this season - AGAIN!- if the Board don't release some money to spend on a striker and a creative midfielder. We have plenty of dross in the squad that needs to be shown the door.

If we continue down the current route, then the team will be playing in front of a half empty stadium.:31:

some very delusional people on here thinking that we can spend like we did under MON. Currently we make under 2 million pounds on our television deal while the worst team in the EPL makes 35 million. Obviously every supporter wants to win now but the only way forward for a club in our financial situation is to develop our own talent and to scout gems like Kayal and Izzy and then sell these players on for big fees then repeat the process over again. If we start spending 4 or 5 million pounds on players we will end up in lots of debt and average premiership level players because the English teams will still be able to spend much more than us due to their tv deal. We have to develop world class players from our own academy, tie them to long term deals and then sell when they make it clear they will not sign a new deal. In the long term spending money on scouting and a good academy is the best way forward for the club.
