Today I enjoyed the one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I played alongside many other fellow Celts in Davie Hay's tribute match at Celtic Park. Joining us on the park were past faces such as Jackie McNamara, Simon Donelly and Peter Latchford.

Also present on the day were Lisbon Lions such as Bertie Auld and Bobby Lennox.

It was the first time I had walked out the tunnel on to the sacred turf since I went on a stadium tour umpteen years ago when I was a wee boy.

My side, managed by Hay, was facing Danny McGrain's 11. Each player received the new Celtic home kit in full as a piece of memorabilla of the day.

What a pleasure it was to be involved in such an occasion and one which I would thoroughly recommend to any Hoops fan.

It's a memory which I will cherish for the rest of my days...and Christ, that is some size of a football pitch, trust me! :icon_mrgreen:

How did you lads go about getting the chance to play?

Something I (and the majority) would love a chance at.

Wow, what an experience that must have been.

I would love to do that but I would need an oxygen transplant after five minutes :smiley-laughing002:
