Im not going to take the bait on this rumour.

He must be quick....it's just that i've heard people say Sammon's hard to catch.

Seriously though, why does everyone keep bringing up Murphy? We all know Murphy's * but whats that got to do with anything? Lets sign Sammon cos he's better than Murphy? Not having that.

I say lets sign a bit of quality, someone like Shane Long (whoever it is will it will probably in the summer). We should be able to spend 3 or 4 mill on a striker if we punt Murphy, punt Rasmussen and punt Sammy.

We shouldn't even consider signing Sammon. As someone said he's nowhere near good enough to wear the hoops. He'll just be another Daryl Murphy

Murphy has a good physical prescence...... should we play him? Sammon is NOWHERE near good enough imo. He'd be just the same as Daryl Murphy. As i said in previous post we should be getting rid of the deadwood up front in Samaras, Murphy and Rasmussen and then with the freed up funds be setting our sights higher than Connor * Sammon!

I hate to mussel in on all these gags but I'm not convinced sammon would appreciate the scale of the task.

I know Murphy is *, i dont need you to show me his goals ratio.

But if u insist in wanting to see stats

Connor Sammon is going through a good spell this season. He scored 1 league goal in 25 appearances last year and 1 in 17 the year before that. He also scored 3 league goals in 16 appearances for Derry City. And before that 13 league goals in 69 appearances over three years for UCD.

Thats some record. Such tough leagues as well. Lets get in there quick before Barcelona come sniffing.

So if u want to judge him on 25 games fair enough. I'd rather judge him on his whole career. Plus how many times have we seen a player have a good run for a season for an SPL club but ultimately be *. As someone else said Chris Killen is perfect example.

Now how can i phrase this......Take a seat MUSH!

Oh his whole career? thats what to do mate ? Because thats relevant?

Do you think if kenny millers scored 1 goal in 30 games for buraspor? the manager will say to the chairman i think we bought a dud? and the chairman will say heh dont worry he got 20 + goals last season? *

Im not being smart but i dont know what point ur trying to make here.

Of course when ur thinking about signing someone ur going to look at how they've performed for more than just half a season, unless its their first season playing. Everything about Connor Sammon points towards someone who is high in confidence, going through a good patch but is ultimately *. Seen it before players going on good runs but it doesn't make them a good player.

You think he's good, i think he's *. Only time will tell who's right, whether he signs for us or not

Connor Sammon.. i'm worried he could turn out to be another chris killen like signing!? although could be wrong and he could turn out to be a kris boyd like signing!
i think its worth a gamble though.. with his pace and eye for goal he could make a real impact coming off the bench late on! can't see him starting ahead of hooper or stokes though, but will definetly ahead of the samaras and murphy!

I'd take him and take him on because stokes and hooper well 1 of them always comes off and play him from the start against diddy teams in the cup and when stokes or hooper are injured

Fair enough man. Ur not going to change my mind and i wont change yours.

I just think it will be a waste of time and money (even if it isnt going to cost that much). If we got rid of Rasmussen, Murphy and Samaras i think its fair to expect us to be trying to bring in someone of a quality and price higher than Connor Sammon.

The way i look on it, that would leave us with Hooper, Stokes and AN Other. And then guys like McCourt, Ljungberg, Maloney, Commons to play just off the striker if we're hit with bad injuries. Less quantity and more quality is what i'd be hoping for. One guy at £3m rather than 3 guys at £1m

I wouldn't mind him at all.

He's really came on this year, is fast, strong & a hardworker - used to playing upfront on his own.

Killie accepted £600k from Scunthorpe I think.

Don't need him, don't think he'd be good enough here. We've got our two prolific scorers in Hooper and Stokes. So if we were to sign a striker I'd like a target man or a link up player. Don't need to be signing players who won't make the grade, got enough of those.

Killie just rejected bid from Derby. Would be happy with him, we are trying to build a squad and not very single player can be international class, sometimes you need low earning players who will be willing to sit on the bench but when they get there chance still have the quality to help the team!
