In my opinion its time we had a clearout. Some players think that they are guaranteed a jersey and dont need to try(number 46 springs to mind).

A few names there will surprise people.....but its time for a change.

I'd stick with Strachan......but which players and manager would you like to see???

I'd get rid of McGeady. He doesnt track back. have seen him plenty of times waiting for Naylor to go on overlap, then cut inside and lose ball, and expect naylor to run 80 yards to retreive the ball. Havnt been the boys biggest fan. I'd rather play shaun maloney. Each to their own opinion tho. thats what makes threads like these work

 

I can see where you come from with McGeady, but why Robson? sure he's not a key player but he's a brilliant squad player and can do a job when asked.

 

Samaras - club's second top scorer having played considerably fewer games than Mcdonald. Cost 1 million, still young, excellent player to have in the squad.

Robson - instrumental in last season's title victory, and for me it's no coincidence that we are dropping vital points in tight games in his absence. Valuable player for us, and over 30 so would not command a transfer fee anyway.

McGeady - last season's player / young player of the year, on his day an outrageous talent, but i would sell ONLY if the right bid came in.

The remaining players selected, yes indeed....the only reason i would get rid of JVOH, however, is that he is noe of the club's highest earners and i believe the money can be put to better use on a (quality) European-class replacement.

 

I think JVoH has a place in our squad as a 4th choice striker. Arguably Samaras as 3rd choice, McDonald first choice, but the mystery of second choice is yet to be solved!

Also McGeady and Robson have to stay.

Out of that list I'd keep Sammy, Robson and McGeady unless an outrageous bid came in for them which we just couldn't turn down. I'd add Paul Hartley to the list, has done a job for us but is sadly on the way down.

A clear out is most definitely required but we have to retain a certain strength in depth within the squad to ensure we have adequate cover in case of injuries/suspensions.

 

I'd add few more players to your list. John Kennedy, Mark Brown, Mark Wilson, Paul Hartley.

nah not mcgeedy and barry no way agreed aiden needs a rocket up his * now and again but still a good player. jvoh and samaras defo useless and lots more

 

It wont be that easy to off-load all these players. There are some who are out of contract and that will be fine.

Totally agree with letting McGeady go so long as the price was right and a lot of my mates yesterday were starting to agree with me on how little he creates for the team etc.

I'd keep Robson and see if his injury clears up. If it's the same with him and Maloney next season then I'd be thinking of moving them on also.

 

I think if we are to have that much of an over haul of the team then it is time for a new manager too. It has been clear what our team is lacking yet WGS and the board have never really made a huge attempt to sort it out. I've always been a fan of Strachan but I just think the time has come for change. Everything is in major need of being freshened up really.

 

I agree a clearout is required, but not entirely with that list. Wouldnt let Mcgeady or Robson go. You are saying you would stick with strachan, but he signed 7 of the players you mentioned? Would you like another 7 of them lol?

 

id sell mcgeady if only a very good offer came in! but robson no.

 

I'd get rid of McGeady too, he cant shoot and he cant (refuses to) pass.
