In all honesty if Rodgers is not backed which is a strong possibility would you blame him if he walks again?

In all honesty? They * him before in this last season with us in the summer window then the January was a pisstake with the loans.

    Groundhog Day once again.

It's incredibly relevant as it's the example you used. If you want to compete with Charlton for players then I'm sure we could sign loads of players. Trying to sign players that improve our first eleven is more difficult.

There does seem to be opportunities missed and from the outside looking in, it isn't looking good. However, the hysteria is a bit much.

Trying to sign players to improve our first 11 is difficult??? Did you just say that.

Hard to improve on Yang? Hard to improve on Forrest who has missed the majority of last 2 season and who BR has admitted cannot play 90mins. Let that sink in, you've just said its hard to replace a player who can't manage a full 90mins of football.

The hysteria isn’t a bit much at all.

The league starts in a week and we have one good winger at the club (who also happens to be our only good striker). Our other options out wide are a hobbit, Yang and an ever declining James Forrest.

And our next best striker is either trampoline touch Idah or Johnny Kenny.

    And that’s just the attack.

The squad is a * disgrace.

I should really have said using an example of Charlton signing a player from Leyton Orient is a bit much. If anything I think that reinforces the opposite point than what was being made.

Yes, we need signings, especially wingers. I want them to be better than Jota and Maeda though, not Yang and Forrest.

However my point was that the example you used was not somebody we should be signing so it's not really relevant to your argument.

Seen it said elsewhere but Celtic are the * masters at killing any momentum and sucking the joy out of their support.

Just had a season where we won two trophies and showed more in Europe than we have in years. Jota returned in January. Tierney back as well.

What does the club do? Find ways to * off the support. Every time.

We ended the season with Kenny and Forrest leading the line in the cup final it was universally accepted it wasn't good enough fast forward 2 months and you could genuinely state a case for both being first picks

It’s not difficult to sign players to improve our first eleven.

In fact I’d argue a competent recruitment team and decision makers at board level would have one of the easiest and most achievable jobs in European football to improve our first eleven, given the state of it and the resources that should be committed towards it.

Guys like Liam Scales and Yang are in line to start football matches for Celtic every week and we have more money in the bank than we’ve ever had.

Serious professionals who run football operations for a living would make light work of improving our team.

If a striker moving to Charlton from Leyton Orient for £5m would put Scales or Yang out of the team then I concede. We should have intervened.

I don’t give a * about Charlton or Leyton Orient.

You said it’s difficult to improve Celtic’s first eleven. Which it isn’t.

Well maybe you don't give a *, but that's what I was talking about so I'll continue. Said player was put forward to suggest it's easy to make signings. Point is if we wanted him I'm sure it would have been easy. Nothing more than that.

    Ok.

So do you think it’s difficult to improve our starting eleven or not?

Well we're sure making hard work of it. I think Yang is the outlier here who we could obviously improve upon easily but I want us to be looking for real progression, not just aiming for better than Yang.

Again, I only commented because I don't think the transfer cited is relevant to the argument of how easy or difficult it is to sign players because he wouldn't improve our first eleven.

They are waiting for idah, engels and trusty to kick on this season i think rather than looking at replacing them.

They could concentrate on replacing Kuhn, Kyogo, Jota, Schlupp and the 3 CBs that left in the mean time....

Update from the big man after tonight’s game

Rodgers inevitably addressed Celtic's transfer situation post-match, too, after his call for quality and ambition in the wake of defeat to Ajax.

Asked if he was expecting any signings soon, Rodgers admitted, "I don't know, I haven't had any sort of update as of yet.

"But I'm very hopeful that'll be the case, I think we know that we want to improve the squad, so we're hoping that'll be the case."

Asked about the potential of youngsters getting competitive minutes in the coming season, the Celtic boss said, "I certainly always look at young players, to see if they're game ready for us, so that's the whole idea of bringing them with you, to let them see and see what level they're at.

"I think the opportunity is always there, for any young player. Of course you need the opportunity, but it's not rocket science, it's hard work, and it's just a case of looking at where your development is at.

"Do they need a loan, or do they need to stay and develop and play and train around the first team? Every player is different, but the look will always be there for young players at the club."
