    I know we are all trying to be positive and can only hope this one is excused.
    But just want to know does anybody rate loovens at all? I cant see any strong points to his game and never have! I can re-call too many mistake for him that has cost us dearly!

    Maybe someone can see something i cant because thats now strachan, mowbray and lenny who have used this poor excuse for a defender.

    Thought please?

    not that good, but too harshly criticized on here imo, hes not made many mistakes, people always like to point out that game at ibrox last season

    i have always felt the huns led us up a garden path with loovens, they were trying to get a deal done we gazumped them to show we had more spending power and next thing they sign bougerra who always looks far superior

    your entitled to your opinion rory and i respect but what part of his game xan you possibly like? always caught put of position, slow, poor in tackle - the only time i see him of any use is for corners and he isnt particularly good at that.

    Strong in arial challenges, but I've noticed his biggest weakness for a defender is his balance. He finds it hard to change feet quickly.

    I think having just one good solid no nonsense defender that you can rely on every week would allow for a partnership to form with a variety of defenders over a season.. We haven't had that one player for a number of years and have been trying to form partnerships with hit and miss guys or unknown quantities and unfortunately Loovens has never consistently looked good alongside anyone.. Maybe had his best spell partnering Thompson before he got the head injury but that was a short run of games.. I'd rather he was sold this window but I don't see it happening unless Strachan or Dave Jones buys him...

    Yeah I think that is true. I am not sure about him because sometimes he plays really well like a new Mjallby and other games he is dire. I think technically he has a lot of decent attributes. He can be great in the air and he actually has not bad pace compared to Mick and OD anyway. I am losing patience with him but I would only be sure its time to give up on him once he has had a handful of back to back competitive games again. He has not played a competitive game before Braga in many many months.

    Not good enough, the lad is a bomb scare and worries me when i see his name on the team sheet,i think WGS said he was nothing special when he signed

    just hope we dont go through another season with him in

    Must be one of the least agressive centre-backs I've ever seen. Can string good few games together, he even got call-up for Dutch national team last year. But overall I don't think he's good enough and can only be burden to other CB (presumably Hooiveld).

    I can see his good attributes, he can head a ball for example.

    The reason he will never be a Celtic centre half is he is far too lax, he doesn't react to anything.

    He has the turning circle of an articulated Lorry.

    He is nowhere near as good as McManus and Caldwell.

    McManus won 3 in a row, Caldwell 2 in a row. We sign Glenda Loovens, and Rangers win 2 in a row.

    He should have been sold right after the Rangers game last year. To let them through once, is criminal, to do it twice.....well, he should never play for us again

    when a see his name on the team sheet in big games a always feel a bit sick. dont like slaggin any celtic players but we cant have him here for another year.a would take a million n cut our losses. hes an accident waiting to happen.

    he is utter pish. he cant run , cant tackle , has no positional sence, cant pass need i go on. he is a waste of space who brings nothing to our team and quite frankly anyone who things he is any good must be on drugs . he has sold so many goals since he signed he is a liability who should have been sold a year and ahalf ago. i didnt rate caldwell or mcmanus but loovens is far far worse. we dont need a so called football playing centre half we need ball winning centre halfs who can defent first and four most. we need to start to keeping clean sheets and loovens wont help us do that . sell him, lone him out i dont care what just get him to *.
