Truth is the only way the SPL will become meaningful is if other teams close the gap on us. The richer we get and the poorer the rest then the more rotten the league. I you are the sort of fan who just wants to count up titles against as poor opposition as possible then you are a Celtic supporter but not a really into sport as such. Poor though the SPL is, the title has gone to the last day of the season something like 6 times in the last 10 years. That IMO has kept it alive as a spectacle. When it becomes a turkey shoot its going to lose its sporting aspect and just be for those whose main focus is all about silly bragging rights to huns.

Personally I would like to see the league revived by rules meaning say 5 players have to be homegrown youths in each team or the like and maybe a 3 or 4 foreigner rule. I would like to see it back to roots and away as far as possible from being about who is richest. If it remains so much about money the SPL will always be a poor league. In the 80s it was a very decent league and so you dont have to go too far back in time to see how it can be done.

Huns actually believe that when we win the league this year that it will be by 'default' nothing to do with the fact that we were 1/5 favourites in the bookies before they went into administration?

They talk about it as if it could have happened to us just as easily. As if they're 'unlucky' to be going into administration. They bought and cheated their way to 9IAR and its coming back to bite them on the * now. I hope the club burns. I hope the club burns and dies a painful death.

 

They were 2nd BEFORE the points deduction. They're 2nd AFTER the point deduction. I fail to see where we were "gifted" the league title?

If we win by 9 points that's all you'll hear. Never mind the fact they were gifted 3 points up at Inverness with 2 of the worst penalty decisions I've ever seen in any football match. That'll be swept under the carpet.
