I think Old Firm has more impact on people and society. But the Turkish game is just as big in Turkey and is just as noisy and passionate.

both have deep rooted rivalry and underlying issues. instanbul derby has its roots in class differences whilst OF obviously has religious connotations but OF edges it for me

For me it is always the OF but I think the Turkish one is more crazy and is more likely to get out of hand

Just so we know. We aren't voting on whats the bigger derby, we are actually voting on predicting the winners from the derbies that seem to be both taking place this weekend. If you click the link....

But if we do talk about it, I still think the Turks is more mad and crazy but there is something about society on O.F. day. It's in the air usually.

    Fener - new money, rich?
Gala - old school, working class?

    Am I right?

Fener are the working class one but they have more money as a club these days.

Gala is prestige as it is the name of a high level university and is wealthy and all that

Each derby bears something unique with themselves. Don't have a favorite Turkish club, but I always enjoy watching that fantastic atmosphere.
