Celtic Park to go 80,000 ??

i would love to see celtic build up the south stand but the only problem is do we have the CASH ???

 

That would be gr8 but as you said we really dont have the money for it which is a shame. Plus if we built it, it would make us a lot more money from tickets. The only problem is that the season ticket prices would go up

 

i agree with what malone said i dont think we could attract 80,00 for league games except again rangers but european games or if we could get into the prem it wud fill easy but would be nice to see 80,000 *! now that would be class on a european night

 

If this would be to go through then games against teams other than Hearts and Huns wouldn't be as full. Really think we'd be lucky to attract any more than 55,000 for the other games. While I've heard people say the demand for season tickets is increasing, we know what it's like with games against smaller teams, some people seem cimpletely uninterested.

PLUS nike will SURELY HELP US with money! think about it...Nike sponspor celtic for 5million a year (pennies compared to other clubs) and sponsoring a team with a 80,000 stadium for 5million annual is a bargain

Man Utd have expanded their stadium, Liverpool will move to a bigger stadium, Newcastle have plans to increase their capacity, Celtic should move to do the same.

The Main Stand does need a revamp. Facilites do need improving. The expansion would attract many more season ticket holders.

 

I live a long way from Celtic Park, and dont know much about this, however I will bet theres more chance of this happening, than us signing a CL class player?

Celtic have made plans for the Stadium, although these could be a few years old, they wouldn't be made up unless an expansion was thought seriously of.

Yes mate,but they play in Premiership,and we play in SPL,which means much more money for them,and much more attendance,altough Celtic doesn't have problem whit full capacity,but I don't think it would be the same whit much bigger stadium in SPL.

 

A 80,000 stadium can break man utd's global dominance and would be a huge ego blow to every english premership club and english football as a whole

It would be great if there were ppl going to buy season tickets for the expansion. Although I don't know how many ppl wud do so.

 

sadly gentlemen the main stand would have to be completley pulled to the ground and new foundations put in place before any such expansion could take place!!!!!!!!!
i know this cause i worked on the first part of the redevelopement of paradise
estimated cost of such a developement would be in the region of £20 million (now)
personally i would rather see that sort of money invested in the team
than a few extra seats

The board have considered an expansion and it wont happen until the waiting list for a season book reaches a certain number. Expanding the stadium wont come from available money either, we'll do a share issue and hopefully DD will underwrite the cost. When the debt is cleared and the new training ground is finished, i think the stadium will be the next big thing on the agenda

 

I would be willing to put money into a share issue.

£20 million seems a reasonable price. If it was to happen it would send a clear message to Ibrox who are expanded by a measly 1,200 seats.
