    Match Day 4

    Group H

    Ajax vs. Celtic

Ajax entertain Celtic in the fourth match day of this season's Champions League. The Scottish champions were victorious in the previous fixture, putting on a brave face following the misfortune of defeat against Barcelona and Milan.

The Dutch are managed by former Rangers defender, Frank de Boer, who believes they will be victorious if they maintain their recent form:

While de Boer may be confident in his side's ability, they're treading close to elimination, and failure to collect the three points from this fixture would be critical for Ajax.

Celtic's midfield is not at it's strongest for this fixture. Scott Brown and Nir Biton are both suspended for the game, while there are doubts about key players, Commons and Samaras. The Celts will be hoping the influence of Kris and Georgios is available for this game, in which manager, Neil Lennon, feels his side can negotiate safely:

Indeed, it has been pleasing to see many of Celtic's players take to the tournament comfortably, such as Virgil van Dijk, who has been a rock in defence for the Hoops. Fans were worried following Kelvin Wilson's transfer back to Nottingham Forest, but their minds have been eased by how the new defender has taken to the club.

Neil Lennon revealed recently that their opponents, Ajax, actually let the defender slip through their net. Efe Ambrose, in particular, has appreciated the addition of van Dijk, and Celtic will be hoping the pair continue their fine partnership in a game in which their defences concentration will surely be tested.
