Good to see our Irish connection growing.

The GAA is the backbone of the community in Ireland and this will help raise peoples awareness to Celtic.

Celtic Chairman Ian Bankier said: “We are absolutely delighted to enter this exciting new partnership with the GAA. It is an exciting concept and one we believe will make a real difference to so many young people.

"Celtic has an unbreakable bond with Ireland and this is a connection we cherish dearly. We are delighted, therefore, to be carrying out this important, meaningful work across Ireland and we look forward to working hard together with the GAA to ensure this programme is a great success.”

    Good stuff.

Would love to see a Celtic FC styled GAA shirt by O'Neills.

    We are a scottish club...........

    What is the GAA?

We should be making more of our links with Ireland, would be great to see the best Irish players in the hoops rather that a few second rate players and the token "lifelong Celtic fan" who enjoys 6-12 months here.

Of course we are a Scottish club, that's barely debatable, but like Bankier himself says in quotes, we have unbreakable "Irish connections".

What is it though? I mean without going into too much detail - what does it do? Is this about corporate benefits or will we have a better foothold in Ireland in terms of young players?

The GAA is the main body over Gaelic Football and Hurling in Ireland which is a massive sport on the 32 Counties.

Thousands and Thousands of kids and Adults take part in the games,it is an * sport and one of the best sports for action you could watch.

As for those who will benefit,in my opinion the only people who will benefit are the Kids and Celtic.

It will raise peoples awareness of Celtic,it won't mean Celtic will have a foothold on local talent as the GAA would prefer top class athletes to stick with the Gaelic.

Understandable that alot of people will never have heard of it.

Outside of the Irish communities not many people will have heard of it.

But it is played in all the major Cities worldwide now where the Irish have settled in.

Good news I think if it raises our clubs profile it's all good.
Now for the tin hat GAA that's like a less skillful game of Shinty is it not ?
