In Corfu at the time, no mobiles or laptops in these days, just phoning home on the land line..............last call was 5-3 (agg6-5) well into injury time and then the party started :36: :52: :55: :54:

Think this was probably the first European game I was at. Amazing atmosphere and unbelievable match.

This, and the FC Tirol home game are 2 of our craziest games in Europe. One went against us, one went for us.

Absolute sickener at the end. Would've been gutting to have experienced it. Wonder how far we could've went that year.

Will never forget this game. Listened to it on the radio as a boy. Jacki was my favourite player at the time. What a roller coaster of emotions that night.

If I remember correctly, John Greig was co-commentator and even he sounded frustrated with our defending and the manner in which we blew it.

Seems odd to hear the commentator saying "the Pole" over and over and over again. He'd have fun commentating in 2023! I'd say our first team with everyone fit is likely to be:

    The Englishman

The Canadian The American The Pole Taylor

    The Dane McGregor The Japanese

The :39: The Japanese The Japanese

Subs: Bain, The Irishman, the Englishman, the Japanese, the Japanese, the Korean, the Korean, Turnbull, the Israeli, the Swede, the Portuguese, Forrest, the Honduran

    Manager: the Irishman
    Assistant manager: Kennedy

Archie McPherson was the master of this. Nakamura was just simply called "The Japanese" the whole time he was here. I always mind Archie commentating when we beat Man Utd at Celtic Park. Nakamura does a wee bit of trickery and beats the defender and Archie goes "oooafffftttt....he did a little jig with the ball there, the Japanese". Sticks in ma head that

Anyway. They used to take the * out of him all the time to see how many of the Dundee players that he could remember at the time when they had a large foreign contingent...Cannigia, Cabarello, Sara etc......He knew Gavin Rae and Rab Douglas and a couple of more famous ones....he dodged commentating on anybody else by name the whole match........."What a shot there.....by eh......Dundee....." thats the typa stuff he was coming away with to try and get round it

Was it no something to do with Stefan Scepovic's father or something?? Was he no the scorer of the deciding goal or something? Im sure that rings a bell
