Celtic 25/26 Summer transfer window: Stage: Nicholson firing up the Fax Machine

We didn’t need major surgery. The most pressing needs were a replacement for Kühn and a replacement for Jota with the length of his injury and recovery. Probably CB cover given CCV’s issues of late.

It’s the fact that we haven’t bothered to sign anyone in those positions that’s worrying me more than anything. There’s enough time left in the window to fill gaps elsewhere, but those are glaring holes. And this year we don’t have the guarantee of CL football to fall back on.

 

The club have been willing to sacrifice pre-season and gamble with some important fixtures in order to pursue the route of trying to get deals for the absolute cheapest possible fees. Its hard not look at it any other way - because the money is there and the targets are there.

I suspect as we get closer to the end of window they will grudgingly start to loosen the purse strings after what looks like right now a remarkably unsuccessful month of haggling.

So 11 players that between them whilst the football is competitive I don’t see any getting game time other than a token appearance.

Between loans and sales I would say 7-9 of those boys won’t be at the club come the end of the window.

It only leaves a squad of 22 and 20 outfield players of which one won’t play until January at the earliest.

 

I noticed someone was suggesting threatening the boards family members earlier.

Sure there's a few stages after panic before that.

Board are a shambles , when the rangers takeover was happening I thought it would be a few years before they mounted a serious challenge on us but with us penny pinching and no real targets to get excited about it’s pathetic , hate to say it but the players that the Huns are targeting seem more what we need ,

antman and Moore walk into our starting 11 , why we are not targeting players like that is beyond me , with the league starting soon and the prospect of starting the league with Yang as our number one rw and idah as our striker is frightening.
