Hello hello to you all. :bbpd:

What's this all about then? Read on my friends read on.

Like a lot of folk on here, the one and only thing that irks me about my beloved hoops top is the great big Carling logo in the middle of it. For one I can't stand beer of any kind (thank you Jack Daniels) and also I'm fed up of looking like one half of a 'set'. For us who are trying to get the * away from any association with Rangers and abolish the 'Old Firm' tag that we always gets lumped in with, having the same sponsor does not help.

So what to do? Given Carling are starting to realise this and after the new rules in place banning alcohol advertising on kids tops it was time to move to the adults tops, though they're a bit reluctant to display or advertise this (you have to ask at the counter in the shops if you want one)

But for those who missed getting one online at the start of the season and for those who are thinking of buying another top without it, this may help.

Now it has been done before but not in depth, so here is a step by step 'tutorial' on how to do it.

DISCLAIMER : I've done this on about 5 or 6 home tops so far with success rate everytime (there's a tiny hole in my own top but not really noticeable) so if you do try it and you * it up, whoops!

PS - Since you pesky Rangers fans can't seem to stay away from here and you may read this it'll work with your tops too.

Right, on with this as I've written a book so far.

    1. Celtic top, isn't it lovely as always?

#2 If you turn the top inside out you'll notice that the Carling logo is 'stamped' on rather then sown in, like the badge and Nike logo, this certainly helps. A lot

#3 Turn the top back to normal, grab the underneath of the top and 'pinch' it until you just have a corner of it, now using tweezers CAREFULLY pick away at the corner until it comes loose slightly, like thus.

I say tweezers but I really recommend your fingernails, though has anyone got any left after yesterday!?

#4 keep picking and loosen it until you're able to grab it with your fingers, then SLOWLY pull it away, it'll make an unpleasant tearing sound but don't panic. I highly recommend you lever one 'side' off first then slowly peel it back. See pic.

#5 It should come away pretty easy at this point, it's the corners that are buggers. Do one at a time (I did top left first). FOR THE LOVE OF * DON'T JUST RIP IT OFF AT HIGH SPEED! Just ease it off. The last corner remains and for me has been the most stubborn everytime. If it doesn't yeild just give the top a tug while pulling at the logo, should come off then.

#6 Give it a little shake and viola!

#7 Now the eagle-eyed among you will notice the big * off dent in the top but that's where the joys of a washing machine comes in. After 2-3 washes and careful ironing it'll fade away. As is demonstrated by my lovely assistant, last seasons top

There you go, I'll leave you with this. Oh I am funny.

The Away top is identical but I haven't done that yet. I'll give it a whirl though as it's identical in material etc.

I would kindly like to ask for this to be made a sticky for a bit but I don't mind if it isn't. And sorry it's so huge! :celt_2:

I think you should have a Carling or 10, enjoy yesterday's great victory and stop worrying about little things like that.

I did it on an older away top to experiment, the green and black one.. it looks so much classier without the Carling

Nice one easily to follow instructions to looks much better without a big sponsor on the front.

    Looks quality mate
Hate sponsors on all shirts especially eircom on the Ireland shirt when national teams don’t have a sponser
