This is a well calculated piece of business & well done to our scouting set up. I wonder if David Pleat had a role to play in this as he knows the English game well. I remember Dortmund signed Sancho from the PL2 with similar stats for 8 million & the rest is history.

Sorry if this is common knowledge but I'm not following you. How could we announce a player as signed outside of the transfer window when it is the designated period in which we can sign players?

 

You can sign a player at any time, he cannot ve register until window opens. Like KT last week we announced it but he wont be registered to 1st july day after his contract expires. Same if we signed Nygren last week we could announce it but would be offical until today on fifa TMS

 

Celtic's third signing of the transfer window could be imminent, according to a recent sighting at the club's training ground.


Following the free transfer of Kieran Tierney from Arsenal last week, today (Thursday) Celtic announced the signing of Isaac English, joining the club from Championship side Greenock Morton.

With the transfer of Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland seemingly nearing completion, as well as talks with Royal Antwerp's Michel-Ange Balikwisha, the Scottish champions are busy in the early stages of this transfer window.

Last week, news broke of the club's interest in 19-year-old striker Callum Osmand, who has been featuring for Fulham's PL2 side at U21 level. Later on in the week, it was reported that terms had been agreed, and that a medical was booked for the player.

Sources close to The Celtic Way understand that the former Wales U17 international has been spotted at Lennoxtown on Thursday, indicating that his move to the club from Fulham is all but completed, pending an announcement.

Due to his contract expiring, despite Fulham offering him an extension, Celtic will only have to pay Fulham a development fee, similar to what they did when signing Moussa Dembele from the same club back in 2016.

In 22 appearances last season in all competitions for Fulham's U21 side, Osmand made 22 appearances, scoring 11 goals and assisting a further four in all competitions.

He will likely be expected to provide competition for the likes of Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda, though his arrival could signal a potential move for Johnny Kenny, who featured in the second half of last season.

He scored his first goal for the club in the penultimate league fixture against Aberdeen, where Brendan Rodgers' side won 5-1 at Pittodrie.
