All 3 were *. Looked less * after Maeda goal but didnt exactly do much either. The RB game was good from him but these games in the CL are too few and far between. Think we really need to change it up a bit.

 

He was off it for sure but basically running the midfield on his own for the first 60 minutes. No surprise he suddenly looked more comfortable when Bernardo came on.

 

Said it for years that for Cal to be effective against the big boys he NEEDS his other 2 midfielders to be on it and working in tandem. That goes for any 6 we have I.e. the 'destroyer' so many seem to crave.

Zero use having good individuals when they don't work together. We seen what he can do in the 6 against Leipzig, no surprise when the whole team worked for each other.

 

6 goals all from outside the box and not even half way through the season yet, I wonder who holds the record for most goals from outside the box during a season, Cal must be on his way to potentially holding the record, I'd guess maybe Naka with all his free kicks currently holds the record, although Lubo, Thompson and Petrov were fond of a few long range efforts too, anyone know which Celtic player currently holds the record for most goals scored from outside the box during a season?

The thing with ‘the destroyer’ type, they can stand out breaking up the opposition play and it stand out without that support. And they come away blameless when those aren’t doing their job who are to receive the ball from them and make our play click.

It’s an easier role, it’s still not an easy position to play but the role is easier than being the fulcrum of the team.

Wasn't our worst player (hi Reo) but I really think he hid tonight. Didn't really take the initiative and drive us forward. Which is frustrating because we know he can do that. It was very negative football.

 

So poor and negative..

 

Dictated the laborious tempo today and was negative in everything he did.

 

Really disappointing performance from him tonight. So negative and it ran through the whole team.

 

He literally pointed back the way all night..
