IMO I think he's a good distributer of the ball , but get's caught in no mans land far far to often. I would play him in Lennon's position and play Varga until bobo comes back in or even better another top signing for Centre half

lennons done m8. im afraid . he might be a defensive kinda midfielder but offers nothing over say graveson or someone of ilk ... hes too slow now to do his proper duties .. also only passes the ball backwards and can be not-tuned -in with those passes at times aswell.....maybe ok sumtimes for spl but in the CL we best not start with him tbh i fear .. id rather we signed another player or look at alt players / method / formation.

 

i like lennon but in my eyes his starting 11 days are over but he can still do a shift for us from time to time

I thought Caldwell had a very average game against Inverness, he is not doing too well, he tries to kick the ball accurately the fancy way, and he is not that good.
Granted he is not a liability like Balde, close mind you, but he is NOT good enough for the CL and it WILL show!

 

I think that Caldwel has a lot to prove as well. Another worry for me in the CL is that McManus will get sent off of give away a penalty. He is reckless at best and dangerous at times. He will go straight off for some of his lunges with certain refs.

 

caldwell gets played for scotland, and everytime he plays for scotland in that position (DM) he plays good!!

 

Well we've got Caldwell who can distribute a fair ball and Bobo who has a fair bit of pace to keep up with faster strikers. Think we've got a good wee partnership there.

 

as a hibs fan i can honestly say i was delighted to see caldwell go he is as much use as watching snooker on a black and white tele . we look far more solid it the back now with big rob jones and he came from grimsby thats how good caldwell is . and champions league he will get destroyed he cant even handel darren mackie never louis saha .
also use have 20 goals on the bench getting splinters in his * called derek riordan and use still play kenny miller.

Anyone that considers Balde good enough for the CL, or Celtic for that matter, goes beyong an opinion, they prove they are seriously limited in their understanding of what they see, and how that player is performing.
Currently Telfer is weak, and so is Caldwell, bring on Balde and watch, a stumbling fitless individual struggle like *, and as in the past was carried by Celtic players beside him.
If Douglas, Tom Boyd, Telfer, Caldwell, and others were or are not good enough to compete for Celtic in their respective competitions, then it has to be recognised that Balde is another,
Theres a player I saw today, near fell off my chair watching couldnt believe he was still playing, and guess what his team won, yes he plays for Manchester City, Danny Mills, watch the game, what a fuckup he is, another Balde.
