True, doesn't really motivate you if you know you can play * and have Brendan make excuses for you

Do you think he doesn't go through them behind closed doors ?

Big summer coming up. Very big.

    Massive summer.

Potentially a couple of big players leaving, and we already need a few outwith that.

Aye he’s was islolated.. but one of our players going into a title clincher with ‘mixed’ emotions.. should have been left on the bench 100%..

Brendan probably doesn't need to shout at players because he commands their respect. He used the key word 'relentless' last season but we have been anything but that in the league this season. He needs to let the players know that you can't pick and choose what games to turn up.

Today was a shambles at times, no threat at all down the wings, and sorry but Forrest has reverted back to his pish stage yet again.

like I say you can make figures suit an argument

The last 5 years net spend
    Sunderland £132 mill
    Arsenal £247 mill.

They had a lot of debt with the new stadium so had to sell their top players to finance it.

Fairly certain the mere fact that you have to play around with timeframes to distinguish Arsenal and Sunderland in net spend was the original post's entire point.

Only gripe I have with his subs today was missing the opportunity to go 4-4-2 with Edouard up top beside Griff.

We should definitely have changed it to match them up formation-wise.

  13. He was excellent against them at home before injury..

If any player ever has that attitude I'd want them immediately punted, no benched..

Not saying he did go into it "with mixed emotions" but if he did could you not argue that as Brendan is trying to push all our players then playing him today was the right thing to do ?

BR: "I thought the best team won. Over the course of the game they were better than us. We didn’t defend well enough today in large parts of the game.

BR: "Spacing and pressing wasn’t so good and we weren’t quick enough on the ball. When you play like that then, of course, you can make it difficult for yourself. The best team won."

BR: "Performance wise we didn’t play so well today. Sometimes you have to take it, congratulate Hibs and on to the next game."

BR: "Every coach would say they’d love to do it [winning the league] when you’re playing. Behind the goal was packed with our supporters today so we were hoping to do that. Unfortunately we weren’t able to do that for them."

BR: "We’ve collated enough points that’s given us a good advantage and if teams over the next couple of games slip up then we can be champion. If that’s not the case, then we’ll take it forward next weekend.

Genuinely such a laugh in this forum when we lose. All of a sudden Rodgers doesn't have a clue and every player is * .

It's near the end of a long season and we played a team who's played what, 20 games? less than us this season and they looked sharper and more up for it pretty much because they are fighting for 2nd while we have the league wrapped up . Ffs chill out man.

I wanted to Edouard just behind Griff with Rogic, make the game narrower, force there midfield deeper to pick them up and allow Broony to control the game.

    Either way: Griff needed support.

    Precisely.

There was hee-haw support for the striker, and not for the first time this season.

Part of my was happy with the way Hibs played, cause it showed that the ol' trusty 4-4-2 formation is still profitable, as is the ol' fashioned have-a-*-right-good-go at the big boys tactic which we should and NEED to be able to revert to at times.
