Boruc surprised by Poland snub

Artur Boruc has voiced fears for his international future after being omitted from the Poland squad to face Denmark next week

The Hoops number one was one of the few Poles to emerge from their World Cup campaign with any credit after a poor tournament under Pawel Janas.

He stepped down after the competition in Germany to be replaced by Leo Beenhakker, who had guided Trinidad and Tobago into the finals for the first time.

However, the Dutch coach has overlooked the 26-year-old in favour of Liverpool's Jerzy Dudek and Wojciech Kowalewski of Spartak Moscow for the friendly against the Danes.

Boruc said: "It is the manager's decision. It was a surprise but I cannot do anything.

"He has not explained why I have been dropped - not yet - but I hope he will.

"He has called up Dudek and Kowalewski from Moscow. The manager said Dudek will help with the team. That is it.

"I am not sure what is going to happen but I hope everything will be OK.

"I have not phoned anyone in the Polish FA, there is no point.

"I do not know yet if I am not going to play under Beenhakker. I will just do my work.

"Maybe I will be involved in the qualification games for the European Championship. There are still three or four weeks until we play our first match against Finland.

"Maybe I will come back. The Champions League gives me a good chance to show what I can do and become a better keeper."

Boruc is keeper no.1 in Poland for me without doubt! i can't accept any other point of view especially by the foreign coach!!!!

Leo Beenhakker is probably a dirty F**KEN Hun bast**d, who is doing this to unsettle our player. Boruc is WC and Dudek is passed it imo!

no offence to you Rav3n but 'm a Pole and i know a little bit more what's going on with polish NT... and it's not going good my mate when board gives a job to the foreigner just because people here want that.. and the board know that this foreign coach won't make a success....

what is more this coach is a friend of Dudek (that's true!) and surely Dudek will have more chances to play than Boruc.... and brouc is a better goalie than dudek for sure right now!

Is Dudek still at Liverpool? and if so is he 2nd or 3rd choice? * disgrace.

 

I was simply making the point that there is no valid reason why Boruc, 1 of the best Keepers in the World cup should be dropped from the squad. Pardon the slight exaggeration, but can you explain it?
