are arsenal bigger than us

simple do the poll answer the question

was on an arsenal forum and one or two seemed to think that they were the bigger club i thought this was laughable but mabye that's just me what you think .

 

On the pitch they are but overall we are the bigger club

 

I think their average height is about 4'6, so I'd say no. We are definitely bigger.

 

No chance. Celtic are a worldwide brand, I wouldn't really say Arsenal were. I only see Celtic, Man Who, LiverpOOl, Barca and Royal Madrid tops when I am abroad.

 

If they mean money wise then yes they are bigger due to them playing in a bigger league, they generate more income, pay higher wages and pay higher transfer fees, this means they can attract a higher calibre of player.

However, in terms of brand name then no, Celtic are recognised throughout the world, this is despite the fact we play in a league with little worldwide media exposure which just goes to show how big a club we are actually are.

A quick Google search will show up an Arsenal supporters club in the USA with 500 members, a similar search for a Celtic supporters club in the USA will show up over 30 separate clubs all over the states, I'd imagine it would be a similar story no matter which country you looked at.

 

They play in a higher profile league and have more money but * a club we are way bigger in terms of club

 

Too vague a question really - Arsenal are bigger than us on the whole - financially of course, on the park, etc. History and fanbase is pretty close (60,000 stadiums, similar achievements in Europe)
Better question would be if we were in the EPL would we be bigger than them - to this I believe we would be - though the difference would be small.
I'm in Asia at the moment (Thailand and Korea) - Arsenal are without doubt bigger here. Whenever I mention Celtic the reply is ohh 'Chelsea!' They simple don't know of other teams outside the EPL, and the big sides in La Liga, Seria A, and perhaps the Bundisliga. Trust me though I'm doing my best to spread the word!

That said you often see dodgy fake Celtic tops being worn out here - though that's clearly because the Green and White Hoops are so original - a fashion choice - not because it's a Celtic top.

I've lived in the South of England for may years now and there's no doubting they're a big team but i don't think they're a bigger club than Celtic..... not at all.

English people can't relate to Arsenal anymore as they appear a foreign force. Perhaps had they built on their success 20 years ago and kept a native backbone to their team then they'd be up there with Man U & Liverpool in terms of support.... and let's face it, when we talk about 'sizes' of clubs, we mean fanbase.

The Arsenal fans i know are hugely knowledgeable, and passionate, but there are just not enough of them.

Arsene Wenger is both the best, and worst thing that's happened to Arsenal in the last 20 years. I think he's an excellent coach and manager but when he leaves them i think they'll grab their identity back and be a very big club

 

At the moment yes by a long way, but not if you look back at things

 

They have more money and better players because of thier money.
But, when they walk into CP they will not know what hit them, they may have done well against Everton but they will be tired and walking into CP will scare them.
So there is a scared and tired team we play on tuesday.

 

arsenal bigger than celtic just because they have more money than celtic. dont make me laugh howmany times have they won european cup leauge titles fa cups how many fans all over the world. man city have more money than any other club does tha make them the biggest club in the world? dont think so

 

No. They play in a league that money is no object and the resources that come from that would say they are a bigger club ,they have more money,but as a brand and fanbase the answer is no ,if you took celtic out of the SPL and they played down there ,i would say within 3 years Celtic would be one of the big 4 ,and probaly with the money issue only Man Utd would out weigh celtic in the brand name side of it .

 

arsenal are a great and proud club with great fans!

and yes the generate more money and play in a better league sure!

but compared to celtic in prestige and history and being known around the world? we blow them out of the water! this isnt a dig at them cos i respct arsenal! but if someone says a club is bigger cos they have more money! then * off for me on that.you got to build a club up from scratch to now to qualify to be known as a big club and not have some billionare come and buy a club that has done hee haw in a bout 70 years or so.

 

i think were bigger, when i think of the who's bigger ? i look at it as history,support size in your home country and worldwide as a whole & like whats been said earlier you'll see our tops everywhere.its not about money imo or we could be sayin clubs like bolton & pompey ect are bigger.there is only really two BIG clubs from premiership Man United & Liverpool and that comes down to history & continued success.

 

the big guns all over the world are: man u, liverpool, chelsea, barca, real madrid, juve, ac milan, inter milan, arsenal.

its mostly the title contenders of every league, so in taht sense, yes, i would say they are bigger than us, but i think we have a more worldwide supportbase because of people who move away and still actively like to follow their favorite team ( celtic )

and besides, in scotland, the majority of support is split in 2 - celtic or rangers, its alot different with all other countries, so kinda think of it that way

 

There not bigger there better!!!! but we will still give them a game!!!! there fan base is not even half as big as ours!!!!

Money talks!!! If we were in the epl we would be 1 of the top 5 clubs in world football imo!!!! With the money that would get generated we would attract the top top players

 

as i was reading the paper today i thought of a better question.

how long do you think it would take celtic / rangers to make an impact in the EPL ( if it happened) ?

i say 2-3 years. after first year can see us sitting mid table anywhere between 8th - 15th. then the money starts to pour in, and eventually we start strengthening our squad, and within 2-3 years of that, can see us a top 5/6 team!

back to the topic though; my uncle stays in canada, and follows celtic every week, and every year he go's to big conventions in las vegas totally devoted to celtic.

all it takes is 1 person to make a fan club site, and instantly you can see how many followers the club has ( at least online )

edit:
celtic also has irish roots, so anyone scottish or irish overseas are more than likely to support the bhoys

 

We have more fans, have won more trophies, have won the European cup and have a history filled with magic, we are the bigger team although they have a better team at the moment(which is not to say we can't beat them in Europe) although considering they get £30/40 more a season from tv shouldn't be surprising.
