I enjoy a few drinks and absolutely love the feeling of being buzzed when I'm with friends. I don't get too many things to enjoy these days, so I might as well make the most of it.

Love feeling relaxed with a drink, but hate when i get that first sign of drunkenness.

Not every weekend no. As sOOn as I started getting hangovers I stopped drinking weekly.

I don't get these people that sit on FacebOOk every day saying how * work is, can't wait for the weekend. S

aturday afternOOn comes 'feel like pure *, getting back on it'.

Sunday 'feel like death, can't believe I need to work tomorrow'.

Monday 'Work is *, can't wait for the weekend'

I'll tell you what is weird though

If I buy 24 beers for the fOOtball say. Now that I live in Sweden I watch a lot of them alone :( If I have 24 beers I will probably drink about 4 watching the game. If I buy 8 I'll probably drink the 8

    I do actually mind!

    :)

I tired of being a window cleaner mate and there was no way for me to get back into the building trade without doing on of those courses for adults. It was going to cost me about 3-5 grand. So with ma GF being Swedish and her struggling to get a FT job we thought we'd come here. She's got a FT job. I got into Landscape construction in my first try, had to leave because of Personal Number issues, still waiting for it though.

So basically for the work. But I needed a change, I have mild depression and Glasgow, Scotland and the UK was really * me off.

  8. Pretty much this for me to be honest. I have never understood the mentality of "Ace - getting paid the morra so I'm going oot tae get pished!"

I've been half way there once before and that was enough for me. Woke up the next morning feeling pretty dodgy etc. Just never been a big drink guy.

I think hearing stories has helped throw me off it too. Like one girl I used to work with - the night after one of our work night's out she got so hammered that she was actually being sick in her sleep. If her husband wasn't there she chould have choked on her own puke. Another one was that my boss at the time went on a night out in Dundee. She remembers going into a pub but nothing after that and she was actually sick that hard the next morning the blood vessels in her eyes popped so there was no white's left in her eyes. Was pretty freaky to see her with eyes like that too :88:

Takes red-eye to a whole new level.

I think hearing things like that - and seeing more - just definitely made me think on what's the point in getting that trashed that you can't even remember the night before.

    Agree with this too.

The way it's deemed - for me anyway - was that if you don't drink or don't get drunk then you're not having a good time. As if you need to have a drink to have a good time :97:

Nah mate, born and bred Glaswegian :) Keep the OO's for the double mate :D

The language is easy enough. The only problem is learning it because they all speak gOOd English. I feel like a *! I've been here for 6 months and I'm way behind where I would be in say France where they hate speaking English.

Right now the winter is colder in Scotland, but I don't mind the cold at all. Less rain which is nice.

Don't like being drunk and never drink to get drunk.

Enjoy a good Leffe, Furstenberg, Duvel, Staropramen or Desperados :)
