I'm confident about winning the league. But only because I think those who wear blue will be worse than us.

This might not go down well but I don't know if I think Lennon is the man for the job.
But perhaps I'm just feeling pessimistic because of how bad last season went.

On a side note, I'd like to see ki get plenty of games

Lennon has only managed to get 1 of his main targets so far in ledley.

He said we need leaders and winners, and at this
point we are still in the same position.
Keane, nguemmo, kamara, mcmanus, boruc and
    possibly mcgeady and hinkel leaving.

Cha, ledley, mulgrew and murphy doesn't fill me with optimism so far.

Time will tell, I think Lennon will be a good manager in time, but time is not something he is going to get at Celtic he has to hit the ground running from the start of the season as mobray found out only too well.

I still want a proven goalscorer (top half championship level or premiership quality) signed to guarantee us goals , and if a backbone emerges throughout the team within the first month then we should be fine.. Im not expecting us to hit the ground running but if we have enough about us to get good results over our first ten SPL games (8 wins , 2 draws would be fine) while players are finding their feet and forming understanding and partnerships with team mates then it should bode well..
Throughout early last season when we were still in the title race up untill mid February it looked like momentum was almost in our grasp but then immediately dissapeared (either by the managers decisions or by injury) which constantly set us back..
Lenny will hopefully have a settled starting 11 in mind by the time we kick of the SPL season and then tweak it to get more from the team as the season progresses.. Definately need some early momentum to keep a happy medium and I feel we'll get that..

still find it a bit unreal that lennon is manager, dunno why really but there you go.

so far i'm happy with what lennon has done albeit only eight games he had last season, BUT after just seeing what was mentioned about the leadership issue which lennon was hot on it does raise a very very good question who the heck is it? Mick is gone, Boruc gone, Brown not really a captain, i now don't see were the leadership is coming from ON the pitch, OFF there is plenty of passion, dig, spirit and tradition with Johan, Lennon and Tommy looking after celtic.

Maybe Lenny was hoping for players like Campbell to have come here already? as i assume he would be the leader? maybe if james now?

OR lenny is keeping something right under wraps and is gonna spring a surprise and pull something amazing off and i'm not talking about keane or bellamy but something along that excitment level if you get my drift.

we should win the league this season and there would be no excuse if we don't but overall i'm feeling excited, but in some sad way i think it's more to do with rangers mass clearout then it is about celtic's progress even though i'm happy with every single signing so far

    Good post mate:50:

I am assuming if and when aiden is sold the money is going to be used to bring in a few players that will come straight into the first team.

If we can manage to get campbell and James on frees it would then represent good business and also improve our team at not a great expence, hence the free transfers.

This would leave the apparent 10m from the sale of mcgeady to spend on a top striker, goalscoring midfielder and possibly even have money left for another winger.

i see a good few years ahead of us lads. rangers are a mess just now, their first team is falling appart, give it a couple of weeks and that squad will be on its knees. so i think a double is on the cards (not saying treble because knowing celtic we will make it hard for ourselves).

see to be fair mate! i think the huns will make 1 or 2 decent free signings while at the same time selling some players in their last year and making a wee bit money aswell.

Looking ahead is what Lennon can't really afford to do he needs to get it right from the start, but I see a good young crop of players who could be first team players.

    Odea, misun, Thompson, rounge
ki, Juarez brown and ledley all have the best years ahead of them.

We badly need a captain at the heart of the defence to bring stability and confidence to the side, which will help the youngsters progress, and not stagnate the way mcmanus did, and odea has started to do.

Plenty unfortunately, but no matter who we got in it was going to be a risk, with new managers and players you always have that worry about how quickly they will gel, or even if they will gel. So all we can do, is go out there, get behind the bhoys and give them every bit of support we have and see what happens.

I do think we'll win the league but there will be plenty bumps along the road.

Yes I have a slight doubt although winning the SPL title I dont think should be too much of a problem.
My slight doubt is based on the same board are running the club, although there does appear to be a slight improvement in regards to efforts in signing players.
    We shall see!

Yes I have doubts about this season. My doubts are mainly centred around the fact that our new manager is vastly inexperienced compared to Rangers wily old gaffer. I also haven't been excited by any of our new signings so far(with the possible exception of Joe Ledley) although I do freely admit that I am only judging them on their names at this point because I haven't seen much of them playing. I will wait and see what they are actually like on the park before writing them off or lauding them. Selling Artur was also a massive blow to my own personal morale and enthusiasm for the new season, so that has made me feel more pessimistic about how things are going to go as well.

Put it this way, if I was a bookmaker I would make Rangers favourites to win the SPL at this moment in time.

I think there are grounds for optimism based on Lenny's eight winning streak from last year, including his first win over Rangers and Smith as interim manager, I don't think that can be overlooked, though he did slip on the banana skin of Ross County, albeit he was just in the door so as to speak, and that was basically Mowbray's flops, so I am not going to hold that against him now.It won't be easy, far from easy, and Smith will be determined to go out with a bang, and he has the advantage of a settled side, with the confidence of a Championship winning side behind them. All that being said, I think our chances are 50-50 and much will depend on how well or not new key players gel or not with each other.

we will be glad you aint a bookmaker, cos nearly al bokmakers have celtic favourites for the title.
im like you deeply sad to see big artur leave it will take a few games into the campaign for him not being there for me to take it all in,
im confident thou that with a few bumps along the way we can win the league and i hope qualify for the group stages of champ league /europa would do if it helps gel the team over the season .
still finding it hard to work out formation and personnel in line ups for next season think lennys gonn ahave hard job finding or top 11
but all in all i think we will have success come next may .

I'm pretty confident about our chances of wining the league and cups. Especially if we sign a striker and CB.

I'm not so sure how things in Europe are going to work out this year...
