CELTIC could revive their interest in Alfred Finnbogason, with the Icelandic striker struggling to make an impression at Real Sociedad and loan side Olympiacos, who look set to send him back to the Basque Country.

The 26-year-old has managed just four goals in 27 appearances for Sociedad, and just two in 11 for the Greek outfit.

I paid close attention to him for a couple of games when we were linked with him and didnt think he'd be worth £5million, I wouldnt take him tbh. Not a good enough allround game for someone whod cost £3million or more also dont think he'd do too well for us as he wouldnt get a lot of space, his style was more to run in behind than to get involved in play.

If we are spending £3millionish id either want someone who links up play well or someone who has ability in the air.

 

A lazy guy who has a low scoring record and only turns it on when he feels like it.

 

It may well be that. However, I'm just always wary of players from the Dutch league, particularly strikers. Plenty of phenomenal strikers have came from there after tearing it up. But plenty have turned out to be duds.

Always think of Afonso Alves, 48 goals in 48 games for Heerenveen. Ended up being duff.

 

Its not quite working out for him, but it is sort of signing we need.

Someone of a decent age now, experience. Is a level above the spl and id have no doubt - like guidetti - that he would be more than capable of scoring against all teams we would face in qualification.
And thats what I ask for, players that can get us to the champions league and then we can build on that.
