Just a wee thought about the two with Scoot Brown in midfield he is another player who can do the unexpected, I think this well free up space in midfield for aidy as well (if hes playing) because last season teams ended up sticking 3 players on him. None of our CM last year could run with the ball. Brown can and is also a good tackler and excellent stanima i think these two will bring a new dynamic to the team along with Donati who is a total unknown to me but seemed to have a good rng of passing with both feet last night:50:

    What do use think?:50::shamrock:

I think Aiden is a liability and i would play Riordan in front of him every day of the week.Even after one of his sessions.Brown is excellent. But with a midfield of Aiden, brown,Donati and Naka, there is too much going forward there and are too light weight in my opnion.

I would still play the three in the middle with Naka just in front

I think our whole team will be a bit more dynamic, just due to Lennon no longer being at the club, i always thought he was amzing in a 5 man midfield, but in the 4 I always felt we needed someone who would look to ping passes more. So I think with Donati and Brown in there we will have two players with the ability to defend and attack, and like you say having more dangerous CM's will pull defenders away from the likes of Aiden, I mean who man marked Lennon? Not as if he was ever gonna beat three guys and cross a ball or have a dig.

Brown and Dananti should be the CM but wiht Hartley bein Strachans golden boy u never know but i think he will see sense. Furthermore Aiden Mcgeadys form at the start of last season was astounding but he rn out of gas after christmas, i like riordan and would like to se him get a few more games upfront this season. The reaso being because i think this is the final season for Aiden Mcgeady to make or break his Celtic carear

yes aiden should play better this season with less men marking him also donati can go upfront aswell we should see more movement this season and more goals :50:

Mcdonald is also really good at making space in tight situations :50:

If people watched the Celtic v ac milan game I think Brown will do what kaka does for ac milan get the ball upfront dragging the ball past the defenders breaking up the marking then a good pass to one of the strikers to hit a shot or he can hit a shot himself and thats what we lacked to score against ac milan over the two games :50:

Nice point Gaffney. I thought that too when he made the run that it was kaka-esque. But im not about to compare the two.

My current first choice midfield is

    McGeady, Donati, Brown, Nakamura

I'd expect Hartley & Gravesen to be pushing Brown for the spot but unless they come good, they'll be on the bench.

If McGeady plays like last season he can get tae *!

However, i believe that with Scott Brown at the cel'ic it can only be gOOd for Aidinho.

What a load of balls, can you remember McGeady before christmas. He was brilliant when the league was there to be won, granted he flopped in the UCL matches but to say he had a * season is absolute *.

People have focussed far too much on the last 2 months of the season rather than the first 3 and a half where we won it and he was one of the keys to our victories in quite a few.

McGeady is probably the most experianced SPL player in the (likely) 1st 11.

    Boruc.
Wilson (also loads SPL experiance) Mick, JFK, Naylor
    Naka, Brown, Donati, Aiden
    JVoH, Miller

The only guys with more experiance are the Hearts guys Pressley & Hartley whom I hope will not play too much.

I suppose Brown & Riorden may push him for SPL starts, we have such a young - but pretty experianced squad, a good blend of youthful players & others in their late 20's early 30's - but all are pretty experianced.

    That seems pretty unfair mate.
He's tried to work on areas of his game under WGS, that he didn't have under MoN.
He tracks back much more & has beefed himself up a bit.
He has a lot to do granted, but he is only 21. I'm sure that he'll get better & I'm sure he wants to try hard to get better.
He will learn from having better players around him now. Naka is a good influence, with his fittnes & training - but also his quality crossing which Aiden needs to sharpen up on.
Donati & Brown will add a lot to the Celtic midfield & take away a lot of the attention from the wings - affording McGeady & Naka more space & time.
This is the season for McGeady to really step up, he's said himself that he's not a wee boy anymore - so that gives you an idea that he's not going to hide from critisicm.
A midfield of Aiden, Donati, Brown & Naka is very exciting to me - I don't think we need another midfielder, but if Aiden falls short I think he should be replaced in Jan.

the only problem i have with mcgeady is that he always feels he has to run into the centre and have a shot. if he stayed out wide and crossed more, he could be a great left-sided player. i understand that naylor overlaps a lot and this is why he runs inside which is fair enough but he does it even when naylor is at the celtic corner flag. if he harnesses this part of his game and trys to pass and field balls from the edge of the box rather than always shooting then he has nothing to fear from riordan.

that said he claimed last season that his natural position was a s an attacking midfielder and felt more comfortable in the centre. this is fair enough because he probably expected this midfield.

if mcgeady doesn't improve, i.e. his final ball then i can see teddy taking his place.

The sooner we get rid of fairy boy Mc Geady the better. The best thing he has ever done is to choose to play for Ireland and not Scotland, thank F**k

last season he was getting marked out because teams new our CM's never neededed marking this year they will... plus i wathced mcgeady in the reserves he played the kaka role (not comparing them before anyone *) he moved out wide once he went into the first tim3e he played that role well in the san siro were it is less physical, more versatilty in the midfield is always a gd thing

one thing i dnt like ever since paul telfer left people * about mcgeady stop being gimps and moaning for no reason hes 21 very jd talent if he was dutch yed be cumin in ur drawers... hes got potential to be a legend give him a fuking chance instead a trying to rite him off at 21 years of age ffs! a canny help but feel the decision for him to pick ireland over scotland for his natioanl team has just affected rangers fans

and i luv scotlands national team:50:

    So bitter:87:

McGeady was often marked out of games because of the ineffectiveness of our CM.He is only 21 and is one of the most naturally gifted players at Celtic. But he is a bit immature and still gets pushed off the ball too easily.

IMO people who say he should be sold are short-sighted idiots

R u * deranged? McGeady Could be better for us, yes. But the boys got more talent than most players i've seen in the hoops put together. Saying that we should get rid is nothing short of idiocy. Sorry:87:
