Just bought some new RAM and it is not being recognised by the computer. I have tried old and new RAM in both slots by themselves and they are both recognised. Just when I put both in at the same time only one is recognised.

Anyone any idea where I can get a BIOS update?

The RAM both need to be the same type or they won't be recognized.

Ah right. So they both need to be Crucial memory modules then? I thought I could just buy one and use the one that was supplied?

So you think that if I buy another from Crucial then they will work? They * should have told me that!!

By the way just read all about Che on Wikipedia. I was inspired by your sig!

Windows XP has a limit of 4GB of RAM, could that be the problem, at all?

Na, I am using Vista and trying to install 2 x 1gb of RAM. Had a look about and the bIOS update is meant to be tricky. If you mess it up then you are gubbed!!

Not sure wether just to buy another bit of RAM from crucial so they will be the same type?!

Both ram have to be the same spec, to work properly, make sure they are both the same Mhz and manufacturer.
