Ireland, either need to win the group (Aussies being the biggest blocking point) or we beat the South Africans. *. :54:

That's assuming that Sth Africa win the group D, because of all thegroups that one looks the toughest on paper & there are certainties that the Springboks will win the group. While Fiji & Samoa may not be in with a real shout of winning the WC, they sure as * are capable of giving teams a good scare & I wouldn't rule out either one of them getting ti the Q/F stage.

So either way, Ireland are going to have to play well in Group C, as well as keep an eye on Group D.

scotland are *. england will beat us easily atm and i think argentina will do us too. they have dropped in rankings but thats only because of small amount of games they've played. they still have a good team with very strong pack

I hope Scotland, Ireland or Australia win it.

Everyone seems to have a thing for the All Blacks(kinda like Brazil in football) but I've always preferred the Wallabies.

I'm just hoping the Kiwis uphold their fine rugby tradition - and choke! That's what they do at every World Cup. :56:

I watched the first half of the recent New Zealand v Australia game. New Zealand looked good but the Wallabies were matching them and getting a lot of possession. The guy that was doing the kicking for them missed 3 or 4 kicks and that really cost them. Overall, I saw enough to suggest that the Wallabies could beat the All Blacks if that turned out to be the final.

I am very much looking forward to the Rugby World Cup myself. Hopefully Ireland will actually show up unlike the fiasco that was 2007. This really is the last throw for the majority of the big name Irish players given how old they would be in 2015.

I think the Ireland v USA game is actually on NBC here in the US next Sunday which should be interesting with of course former Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan in charge of the US team.

Never been much of a Rugby fan but do enjoy the Scotland matches.

Looks like the Argentina match will be key.

I remember watching the 2007 World Cup, was pretty good. South Africa beat England in the final, if I'm not mistaken.

If there's nothing else on, at least I'll have this to watch :icon_mrgreen:

Yep, & will play either the winner or R/up in Group D, depending on if they qualify. Australia & Ireland are definately favourites for Group C. Group D might be Sth Africa & Wales on paper, but underestimate Samoa or Fiji at your own risk. Can easily cause not only an upset, but could well qualify ahead of one of the favoured sides.

hard to see past NZ really but pleanty of teams are capable of winning it.

will be an entertaining one i think, the overall quality of most of the teams means that there aren't too many filler matches.

Scotland have a good chance of taking 2nd in the group. England play Argentina first while we open up to Romania. Having our opening 2 games against the weaker sides allows us to get some momentum and put points on the board. Argentina have played one international game in 11 months and will be pretty rusty. After they play England they have one game to get into their stride before they face us. Having beaten them twice in Argentina recently I think we go into this with the mental advantage.

Between 3 teams for me South Africa, Austrailia and New Zeland. Out of the Northen sides I would say France are the best or have the potential to beat the 3 mentioned.
