Got in a shop on monday night, only saw it in my wallet today.

it says 1986 on the tail side of the coin with a thistle, and the queens head with all the latin * with two pounds written at the bottom. on the sides it says 'X111 COMMONWEALTH GAMES SCOTLAND 1986'

    Anybody seen these before?

Could they be of any value?

i thought seeing it was a limited edition coin, which is thicker than the new coins, and that is gold as opposed to the two-colored coins that is may be collectable.

We have a weird society in the UK.

We are the only place in the world where someone could sell a £2 coin for a few bob. Keep hold of it mate as I'm sure someone will pay more for it. I smell an Ebay monent.......

    All of them!!!
They were a limited edition and are only worth more than £2 to a collector

  8. I've got a collection of foreign coins.

The euros have ruined it anyway! Had francs and pesetas, in fact had loads, from loads of countries, people used to help me out when coming home from abroad. Sometimes I feel like going and changing them all into Sterling, not sure you can even do that anyway!

    At the moment.

Hold onto all the coins as to some they worth a lot more than face value.
