Here's a wee game my Mates and I play down the Pub after the football, we call it The Markings we get paper and Pens and rate all the Players that featured in the most recent Celtic game.


Lets make this thread a regular feature for all the remaining games left this season, I'll be interested to see how our ratings compare thank you Guys here's mine for tonight's Rangers game.

Boruc - 7 - quiet game, didn't have much to do as always, did his job when needed
Telfer - 7 - had a good game
Camara - 8 - had a very good game, got to the touchline to make a few good crosses and looked to support the midfield
McManus - 7 - put in a good defensive shift
Balde - 7 - looked solid at the back
Nakamura - 8 - had a good game, looked sharp and great vision as always
Petrov - 8 - box to box the whole game. good shift from the best player of the team
Lennon - 8 - good game, looked to help out every player and made some important tackles
McGeady - 7 - on and off. played good at time, took too long to pass at others
Hartson - 8 - good game for the big man, won possession loads of times and made a few great passes
Maloney - 9 - by far the best player on the park tonight. excellent game

spot on agree with your ratings,thought hartson played excellent and showed he's not just a target man and that he can actually play football

 

Well you know how much I rate and like Big Hartson but I think he wasn't great tonight to be truthful but I gave him a 6 which is still decent considering 5 and above is basic pass-marks, he had some nice link-up play with wee Maloney.

Camara-8- Getting better all the time(What a different player)

Balde-8-Rock at back+Good at coming for corners anywere!
Nakamura-8-Great vision+Passing Ability Spot-on
Petrov-9-Once again our Boss+great energy
Lennon-9-Soild game form the Captain
McGeady-7-Bright game but needs to pass final ball
Hartson-7-Put in a good days work(not just a traget man)
Maloney-10-Got top Marks for His Goal+MOTM

 

Boruc (8) - Solid, commanding.. did what was necessary
Telfer (7) - played some good crosses; very little wrong defensively, connected well with Naka
Balde (6) - Got caught a couple of times and gave away poor fouls
McManus (7) - Not too much to do... good game
Camara (9) - Excellent performance... up and down the pitch all day, mostly good crosses, wonderful defensive plays
Nakamura (10) - Superb vision, closed players down, always making something happen
Petrov (6) - Dissapointing game from him... won the ball a couple of times and battled hard but didn't seem to have Lady Luck on his side
Lennon (8) - Good, solid performance. Commanded the midfield and mopped up and loose passes
McGeady (8) - Solid game... eager on and off the ball, usually connected well with Camara, not a bad half-chance early on
Hartson (6) - could win the ball in the air if needed... that's about it
Maloney (10) - MotM.... what can I say... he was everywhere and scored the winner.... brilliant performance

Boruc -8- wasn't threatened at all but still looked totally confident
Telfer -7- played well and also looked confident
Balde -7- carried on his decent form
Mcmanus -7- carried on his decent form also
Camara -7.5- really impressed me and a bunch of other celtic fans
Nakamura -7- really starting to come into his game although he needs to strengthen up
Lennon -8.5- did the damage in midfield along with petrov
Petrov -8- ran midfield with Neil
Mcgeady -7- played ok although his passing could have been better
Maloney -8.5 bursting with confidence and gives 110% & a great goal
Hartson -6- his link up play was gd with maloney although i thought he could have contributed much more


SUBS:

Thompson -5- the ball boys contributed more to the game than him


Gordon Strachan -9- welldone wee chap

 

Boruc -7- Commanding, made a boo-boo with one pass back
Telfer -7- Confident but never put under pressure defensively
Balde -8- Defensively rock solid, and put Klos under pressure for the goal
McManus -7- Solid Performance
Camara -7- Made good runs forward but must learn to cross
Nakamura -7- Good passing, physical game doesnt suit him
Petrov -8- box to box as usual, goal should have stood
Lennon -8- (MOTM) Broke down Rangers moves and collected loose passes all night. Worked with Petrov very well
McGeady -7- Good first half, good crossing, used camara well, not as good second half
Harston -7- 100% Effort, needs to take the ball down and no fancy shooting
Maloney -8- Great Shot, showed great strength for his size and general play was good to watch

Subs:
Thompson -5- Invisible, no desire to get on the ball.

Teamwork -9- I thought of the ibrox game when watching this one, players were more confident in their efforts and had a 6th sense of each others positioning. Vast improvement in discipline & attitude.

Telfer - 7 Steady, nothing fancy, to fond of long ball
Camara - 8 Same as usual, bombs up the wing getting behind the opposition. Cool as ever defensively.
McManus - 8 Solid, wholey committed in ever challenge
Balde - 8 Rock, marshalls the defense well
Nakamura - 7 Nice touches and good vision. Can't play "killer ball" when there is a lack of movement ahead of him.
Petrov - 7 Decent shift, good work rate
Lennon-9 Right place at the right time all the time
McGeady - 7 drifted out and into game. Linked up well with Camara. Dangerous going forward
Hartson - 6 Battled well and challenged aerially. Lack of movement makes it more difficult for midfield than it needs to be, killer pass not an option. Weakest link
Maloney - 8 Wonder goal aside a good performance. Constant thorn in the side of Rangers defense. Pace and skill destroys these lumbering giants.

Good team performance but for our total domination we struggled to carve out a real chance until the Greek was sent off. Took a wonder goal and a OG to score. With 2 players up front with good movement we would have won at a canter. This was a similar performance to SPL game against Motherwell (CP) with the previous point being the crucial missing element.

Camara - 8 - thought he was great
McManus - 8 - solid and dependable
Balde - 7 good game but still scares me sometimes
Nakamura - 6 - I thought he was too lightweight only played second half
Petrov - 6 - a bit anonymous until the end
Lennon - 10 - brilliant, mopped everything up and calmed it down
McGeady - 6 - kept giving the ball away
Hartson - 8 - great touches and layoffs but missed a sitter
Maloney - 9 - amazing goal and ran himself ragged

Thompson 4 - done nothing
