If you want to be pedantic, Keane has had £60 million and bought maybe 3 players tops that would get a game for Celtic.

How much has Strachan had and how many of his signings would get a game for Sunderland?

Boruc, Caldwell, Hinkel, Brown, Naka, Maloney, Hesselink, McDonald etc etc etc

McDonald would NOT get a game for Sunderland. Before JVOH and Samaras got injured he was struggling to get a game for us.

Boruc, Nakamura and Vennegoor are the only ones I think would easily walk into the Sunderland squad and perform. the rest of our players are all SPL standard IMO only though. :50:

£80 million is closer to what Keane has spent, not 60. They sit 18th place in the premiership and lost 4-1 to Bolton last week - a team who hasnt scored 4 goals in years. Hes done a very poor job with them IMO.

Wasn't really surprised to see this

For the money they've shelled out ( 60m or 80m ) , the board and the fans would have expected a much better league position than 18th

I thought he made some great signings in the Championship, I put a bet on them 2 years ago to win the league during the January transfer window based on the signings he made, £10 on 20/1 thank you Keano. :icon_mrgreen:

Personal opinion, there were whispers Moyes fancied him and that wouldn't surprise me as he's a goalscorer that works hard and always will be no matter how much his form peaks and troughs. Everton are far bigger than Sunderland are as well.

Was watching the news, they should clips of Keane admitting, whilst still in charge, questioning his own ability to get the best out of players and to bring the club forward. Thats the reason given for him resigning.

In saying that, he has walked away at the first real problem for Sunderland under his management. If GS was lesser or equal to Keane he would have done that after Artmedia.

    GS >> RK

That equation will hold strong for a good while to come.

GS + Celtic + The backing of the fans + Decent transfer funds = World Domination.

Absolutely watertight equation, I'm telling you!

Heard last night he walked cos main owner at Sunderland got him into office & told him he wouldn't be getting any more money to spend in January cos the money he spent already are just sitting there doing nothing and basically what the * are they doing... nothing

Is anyone else getting the feeling everyone at sunderland is afraid to say anything bad about his reign? I think he was walking all over Quinn, hence the £80m spending money he used.
