it amazes me the flack Paddy recieves from huns, considering he cost a pittance compared to there summer signings who have starred in the SPL i.e Edu, Velicka.

hopefully he will be giving a chance & then produce, not only to GIRU the huns but for the good of the team

He will get his chance, it's just a matter of being patient.

He was never going to come here and walk into the first team when he has McGeady, Naka, Maloney and even Robson and Brown in front of him in the wide positions.

Strachan, to give him his due, has always gave his signings a fair crack of the whip on the park if they show hunger off it. He always makes sure he praises it to the press as well as he has done numerous times with Naka, McGeady and Maloney.

I don't see where he fits into the side tbh.Having watched him on the left wing for the Reserves I think he's just too slow to be a winger and his crossing off his left foot is awful.I think he's at his best as the central playmaker where he can use his outstanding dribbling skills and feed great passes into the strikers.Thing about that is we don't play with a position like that in the first team and if we did there would be 4 or 5 players ahead of him in the queue.Wouldn't right him off yet though.

he's a decent player alright, having watched him 4 derry on a number of occasions he would do well in the SPL.as for your point larkin on coming from a * leauge apart from us and the huns most teams in ireland would hold there own in SPL

Quite a few lads haven't though, in fairness. Riordon, Killen, Mizuno off the top of my head. I don't expect to see Paddy given a chance any time soon.

Yeh, we should reward the guys that have went in a 12 win league run by dropping them so we can see a new face.

Those (few) times I have watched him on the Reserve team he haven't been that good, that he deserve time on the pitch instead of Maloney or McGeady.

I isn't sure about these guy, sorry.

Not very promising what he has showed so far, but I would like to see him more one the 1st team before I make any clear conclusion on him
    Like his hear though...

Larsson had played in a World Cup semi-final and was a regular for his country before he came to us.

Lubo had played in a WC quarter final and was a regular for his country also.

We have signed * players in the past.

Riordan had his chance and blew it, I doubt you'd even have the most ardent Strachan hater say anything other than he was a waster of his own talent.

Killen was signed as a back up SPL striker.

Mizuno is in the exact same boat as McCourt apart from the fact he has came straight from Japan and has to adapt to the cultural change.

McCourt doesnt agree with that. He says its a big step up. Certainly the sort of fitness levels he has dont seem up to SPL standards. Regardless, what I have seen of him I think he has a lot of talent, could possibly be a huge star for us but he has to sort out the fitness/injury issues. WGS obvioulsy rated him higher than Mizuno and he was right according to the reserve games I have seen . However, Paddy got injured and Mizuno has finally come onto a game recently so he may have blown his chance for a while.

Some of the goals he has scored here with both Rovers and Derry have been pure magic. By far the most creative player to play in the league for a long time. Fitness levels are an issue though
