Nice to see them keeping their promise, the fact it is unsurprising is probably even worse.

    True...
And with groups such as the CIRA and RIRA stepping up attacks this year, It's obvious that the weapons have trickled down to these dissident groups...

all the dissidents are former members of the provisionals so they had access to the arms dumps round the border too and raided some before they were taken away. the army council didn't give them any guns, they have absolutely no support in the republican community

The guns are getting used for a lot of pretty petty criminal offences now on both sides anyway. Thats why it just doesn't surprise me.

In May last year, the UVF effectively declared an end to its campaign of violence by announcing the organisation was adopting a non-military and civilian role.

Recruitment, military training and targeting had ceased, intelligence rendered obsolete and all guns "put beyond reach".

Is this the medias way of saying today the uvf are just full time drug dealers

None of the loyalist groups have taken any steps towards decommissioning despite the provis having been disbanded for 10 years. What service to these weapons provide ? Probably if there is a united Ireland they can go back to killing innocent catholics again
