    What would you think if he replaced Sven?

    Apparently the EFA have backed up the rumour that stated they are keen on Martin O'neil as Svens replacement. But also said at this moment in time Sven is the manager and will be for the for-see-able future as he has the boards full backing.

    I honestly can't see any chance of this happening, plus why the * would an Irishman like O'Neill want anything to do with the English National Team?

    Doesn't make sense at all to me, international football is a step down!

    MON is intelligent enough to know that to be a Celtic legend and England manager are not compatable.
    Also he would be doomed before he even started as he is not English. This is the reason why the gutter press down south have been waiting patiently for a dip in the teams form so they could slaughter Sven, allied with the fans "rule Brittania" mentallity he wouldn't be accepted.
    I think the Republic of Ireland job would be more of a possibility.

    Exactly O'neil's not stupid, he knows he'll be able to hand-pick other offers that are just as big as the England Job, he also knows which clubs and teams that would be suitable for him given his backround and the England National Team Job would be very unsuitable, it'd be a bit like Alex McLeish taking the Republic Of Ireland job, never gonna happen.

    if anyone could bring them together and make them play as a team it would be MON.

    you think people would respect the fact that he's taking time out to care for his wife, i'm sure he'll announce when/if he's coming back then the media can speculate all they want.

    Why cant the media leave Martin O'Neil alone to get on with his private life with his wife, when and if he comes back to football it will be to a club or country of his choice,so until then leave the speculation to the media hacks who have to make up stories to fill column inches.

    Would rather the media left him out of all the speculation ATM. As Dubs said, he'll announce his desire to get back into football in his own time. When he does, I don't see it at International level just yet, and no way with England.

    But his family comes first bhoys i think this thread should never have been made? any-one agree! He has got enough on his mind at the moment FAMILY FIRST,but i do think that one day MON will become a manager again,IN HIS OWN TIME!!!!!!!!!!
