    Not surprised.

Big guy was worth every penny and actually has more about him mentally than I thought.

I genuinely think this was all about the fact he was going to be away in the summer if injury hadn’t struck and Rodgers not getting who he wanted in.

I have never understood the debate about Trusty or Scales for us at left centre back. All of our best performances last season Trusty played, sometimes with Scales but he played the games. His pace to cover a high line is essential and something we had missed from Starfelt leaving.

This isn’t meant as a criticism of Scales but more that I think Trusty is better than him. If we were to sell Trusty we would get our money back, another reason I don’t understand the criticism of what we spent on him.

His biggest weakness for me is concentration at times but he has seemed really focused since coming back into the side for us.

Big man looks a different player..his passing is much sharper and accurate...his recovery speed is so vital also... keeping him out the team for so long is baffling... definitely has a new lease of life under O'Neill and Maloney

Gonna keep saying it but I've no idea how people couldn't see his qualities.

The fact * were basically chucking him in with the Marvin Comppers of this world at one point blew my mind. Just because of a ropey couple games against big huddies that coincided with his child being born IIRC.

He showed last season he was worth the money with his performances in Europe and has been better for us at thar level than CCV imo

There are plenty of things Rogers deserves stick for, but FFS Trusty was out with plantar fasciitis (something I have had recently). Could he have played the diet's game? Maybe, or maybe it would have flared up and he would have been out for another period. The plan could have been to give him 20 mins at the end of that game if we were a couple of goals up.

Anyway, the big man is looking class now. Love how he's coming out from the back line to win the ball off opposition attackers early - snuffing out attacks before they get going.

He certainly has been excellent since he has come back into the team. He really is taking this chance and grabbing it with both hands. I think given next summer the World Cup finals are mostly in the US has helped as he certainly has every motivation if he wants to make the US World Cup Finals squad he needs to be playing regularly and well for us and thankfully he has been excellent since coming back into the team.

He’s been ready long before the game at Hearts, it was a conscious decision by Rodgers not to play him and play Dane Murray instead. And the reasoning was he doesn’t like 2 left footed centre halves, completely flying in the face of the fact he’d literally played Scales and Trusty together multiple times and they’d played well. Atlanta away the best example.
