Hmm I might be wrong but I don't think a school called Queen Margaret Academy would be a Roman Catholic school...

You are. I looked it up It's listed as a RC secondary school. Try it. That'll be why those in the know about schooling in Ayrshire (i.e Ayrshire huns) said it'll mean he's prob a Tim.

'Queen Margaret Academy (Scottish Gaelic: àrd-sgoil/Acadamh banrigh Maighread) is a Roman Catholic secondary school in the south of Ayr in southwest Scotland'.

Considering McCowan has scored 1 in 10 games this season and Watson has scored 3 in the same period... Yes.

I'm not saying he's an automatic pick but I feel Watson has something to offer us and has potential to get even better.

I don’t mind this. Obviously raises concerns over transfer policy given we don’t have a manager in place, but it’s perhaps one of the instances where it makes sense to push ahead.

    Homegrown
Adds physicality and pace to midfield which is needed
Goal threat from midfield (as evidenced with his goals against us)
    Knows the league
Available on free / minimal fee

I’m a massive advocate for us spending more in the £5-10m bracket but I’m also keen for us to mix that with a Scottish core and make sure we do not overlook players right under our noses

There’s context to that though, McGowan has probably played about half the minutes and is a different profile.

McGowan is technically far superior but Watson is a runner.

I think there's space for both of them in the squad and I think that he would do well for us.

I can't see Bernardo having a future here, unfortunately.

If we were to sell Hatate, I'd want someone much better than Watson coming in though.

Greg Taylor was a hun. Played for us and couldn't stand them.

    Means nothing

Couldn’t give a * if he’s a hun or not, he’s a professional footballer and 99% of them would put their career before where their allegiances lie when they were kids and doing this for a living was a pipe dream.

Would be a good signing to beef up the squad but it’s hard to see him ever really properly making himself a regular based on (admittedly what little) I’ve actually seen of him. He’d definitely offer something a bit different to the other midfielders in the squad though and I’ve often said we should try and take advantage of the talent closer to home.

I haven’t watched him much but he’s impressed me from what I saw. What concerns is he struggled to start for Kilmarnock last year

He was rubbish today. Was actually surprised at how lightweight he is. I'd def be passing on this one. Looks a level or so below Mulligan, McCowan etc.

Just like our whole team looked in midweek against a superior outfit. The potential is there with Watson & he's a grafter which we lack in our own midfield currently.

Have never been that impressed with him before, nowhere near ready for a team like us.

For a grafter he was bullied by our lightweight midfielders. I was wholly unimpressed.

He is also not a particularly good footballer. When at his best he is an energetic runner and his best moments are often arriving late into the box to get on the end of things.

I think if you stuck him a team train to knock the ball around and play quick passing moves, I am not sure he would fit.
