At least here in Switzerland, Japan has become a popular destination in last few years - never was high on my list of places to visit but have always loved the food and curious about the culture. Our kids are anime & manga nutters so I suspect they will have sensory overload

We’ll visit rural Japan a bit as well, Izu peninsula

It's a anime and Manga paradise mate. My son and his wife are, and loved every second.

I was asking my son for some advise for you FCBarca. He said get an E SIM as it's better than your normal simcard. and if you're going to rural Japan, take cash as some rural shops don't accept credit or debit cards. And he was telling me that the next time they go back,(they do want to go back, as it was amazing), they're not taking lots of clothing as most hotels have a laundry service or laundry room, so you can wash your clothes and then get them dried. He said booking the Bullet train accepts credit cards, but some local transport systems only take cash. He told me to tell you you'll need to take extra money with you as your children will love, and want , everything on sale as far as Manga and Anime is concerned. He said you'll love it.

It won’t be this year but really want to see the San Siro or go to a game there before it gets demolished as it’s been confirmed now that it will be.The details of the plans for new stadium only getting published halfway into next year so time yet.

    Generous share, @johnboy19 :60:

Yes we’ve already compiled quite a bit on what to expect from friends and YouTube videos - the absence of public trash receptacles for example was useful information to prepare for

I’m not sure how to prepare for the voracious appetite my kids will have for buying everything

Enjoy! I'm in Nagasaki right now, my fourth time visiting Japan. Wonderful country.

    Somethings I highly recommend:
    Tokyo Tower
    TeamLabs Tokyo
    Kinkakuji temple in Kyoto
https://www.yondaimekikukawa.com/ - This chain of restaurants for the best unagi you'll ever eat
Hiroshima peace park and museum where the bomb was dropped
If you want to go to the Nintendo museum or Ghibli park, you have to book well in advance.

I see your kids are anime fans, so definitely go to the Akihabara area of Tokyo.

I've been to Singapore 10 times and lived with locals there so feel free to give me a PM if you need any specific recommendations. Marina Bay Sands area has the gardens by the bay and the hotel with the boat structure on its roof that everyone takes photos of. Massive shopping mall nearby too.

If you want to see wild crocodiles from a safe distance, go to Sungei Buloh nature reserve. If you want to walk around and see wild monkeys, go to Bukit Timah.

I'd also say go to Arab Street as there are loads of restaurants and bars there, and you'll see some of the old school Singapore architecture before it became the ultra modern city it is today.

In Australia, definitely get yourself to a kangaroo sanctuary, one of the best things I've done.
