TEAMtalk revealed in an exclusive update yesterday (November 6) that Liverpool icon Andy Robertson is very tempted by a move to Celtic.

The 31-year-old left-back, whose Anfield deal expires in June 2026, has been a cornerstone of Liverpool’s success since 2017, winning two Premier League titles, a Champions League and every major honour in between.

Robertson is still loved by Liverpool supporters, but his contract situation has drawn interest in his signature. He is able to hold talks with suitors over a pre-contract agreement in January, ahead of a free transfer next summer.

Sources close to Robertson say Celtic “lives in his heart”. A lifelong Hoops supporter from Glasgow’s south side, he idolised the club as a child and still follows every result. He was also there as a youth player between 2003-09.

“It’s the one move that would make total sense for him personally,” an insider revealed. “He wants to give something back to Scottish football and finish where it all began.”

Celtic are ready to pounce, viewing Robertson as an experienced pro who could raise the quality of their squad as they aim to dominate domestically and compete in Europe.

The Hoops also see Robertson as the perfect mentor for emerging left-back prospects and a leader to steady a defence that has shipped goals in recent weeks.

Stems from a shocking source, he has said through his career he would love to, when he’s still at a level that does him justice. It’s speculation for clicks, that sounds about right but it’s been put out there after hes won his spot as first choice LB for Liverpool again and a real good performance against Real Madrid in a big result beating them in the form they’re in.

If they aren’t going to extend his contract snd he can talk in January though, we had better be all over that man.

To be fair, he doesnt have the same injury problems Tierney has had and hes probably been Liverpools best defender this season, far better than Kerkez anyway.

I also dont think Tierney's future is at LB, it'll be at CB after this season imo (or sooner, Saracchi deserves to start)

Tierney is 28. Totally different situation and shouldn't be considered in the "end of the year" bracket. He's been absolutely shagged by injuries, mainly through us playing him while injured cause we had * all else in the team.

Players like Kyle Walker are 35 and still performing. Watching Burnley this year he stands out in that team.

Robertson is 31 and doesn't have the same injury problems as KT. I'd be happy with Sarrachi but this idea that Robertson is some shell of a player is way off.

As mentioned above he's been Liverpool's best defender this year.

Would be a good acquisition but probably outwith our pay scale and what do we do with KT who is probably on a large salary?

Think he'd be great. Move tierney inside, unless ge decides he can run again.

Only way we should sign him is if we can move Tierney on. I’d get rid of Tierney in a heartbeat, would never have signed him anyway, make space for a good overlapping full back.
