That defence with Ange in charge is a bomb scare and we don't have enough up top to counteract it.

Pair that with Ange having left the club and not wanting to look back. If he came here it'd be out of desperation and again that's not the best fit.

Since the turn of the century we've had MON twice, Rodgers twice, Lennon twice, and now the prospect of Ange twice. It's about time we looked forward for a change.

There's absolutely nothing about our setup that's attractive to managers. Never happening.

Empty vessels make most sound. That's you. :76:

Nothing constructive to add to the debate, or any debate, but unfunny one liners.

And if he wants to get PL money one day, we're a good choice. Show he can do the business on these shores, and get plenty media coverage.

Yep, if we're genuinely interested in him he'll be in during the international break now that Columbus season is finished.

Kinda doubt how genuine the interest is though

Brendan Rodgers was part of the Brendan out mob, didn’t have the ability to change this season around and get the best out of the players he has. Made it clear he thought they weren’t good players (Honda Civic comment makes that clear), he took stock knew he wasnt doing good enough, couldn’t do anything about that and walked.

A similar pattern as the rest of his career. A manager that needs a very well run club behind him to deliver to him what he needs but not one who can cope much when that doesn’t happen, take measure of what he has and adapt to get the best out of them punching above their weight and gives up, and its a downward spiral. When its good hes very good, but theres several gaping weaknesses he has that sadly for him he refuses to learn to improve on, because if he had more flexibility and self reflection and work to improve himself just as he demands for his players, hhe would be at the very top of managers in the game.

As it is, its not a thing he has in him, I agree with Brendan him going was the best move

So you’re just going to pretend what happened 2 seasons ago never happened when the board delivered a ridiculous window with 8 IIRC signings which were all flops none of which bar Bernardo are even at the club now but Rodgers persevered with the team as it was with plenty of noise and nonsense and lies from the likes of you and still delivered a double.

He built on that when the club gave him a better window with another double and a very good CL campaign and wanted to build further on that progress again but Lawwell and the other * on the board cried halt; “we must think of the old firm etc. we disagree with the manager who wants the club to be the very best it can be and we’ll just plod along happily being the biggest fish in the Scottish backwater etc etc.”

This season Rodgers got fed up with bungalow bill beancounter * Lawwell and his wee pals and had enough and who could blame him. That is the reality of what happened in Brendan Rodgers second tenure.

So in that first season of Rodgers second tenure, he proved that you were wrong that he couldn’t as a manager roll his sleeves up and make the best of things that the stupid * of the board were responsible for. That’s exactly what he did. You’re living in a fantasy land of lies and bullshit fed to you by the * Lawwell and his pals and you’re clearly lapping it up.

You were making the point that Knutsen may want to come here as we could offer him performance related bonuses that might appeal. Other than the fan base and history of the club, I don't think there's anything that we can offer that would tempt a manager like Knutsen away. I think its completely unrealistic.

Tempt him away? Away from what? Isn't his contract up?

His contract will expire anyway. So, it's not like he intends to stay at Bodo and we have to convince him not to stay. However, your overall point is valid in the case of our board. A more cooperative board could entice him or other big names.

Contract being up is speculation as well, Bodo still have Champions League games scheduled for January and some reports state Knutsen may be interested but only after the CL run is at an end. If is contract was definitively up and he was leaving, then he wouldn't be there for those games anyway. Don't believe everything you read online, he'll likely have a rolling option having your contract totally expire mid European campaign doesn't make much sense.

Again the contract expiration is speculation, Bodo still in CL with games to play after this supposed expiration. Every chance there's a rolling clause in it triggered by still being in Europe or any number of different things in there. The chance of it expiring dead and him leaving on Dec 31st doesn't seem likely at all.

Even if there’s a rolling deal at the expiration of his contract then If they don’t win the league I can’t see having about anyway as the feel good factor won’t be there from winning the league, I think it’s got to be knutsen as he is the one most fans would get on board with.

All honesty mate I don't have an answer for you on this.

I agree with your earlier post about waiting until summer to see what's available then.

I'm open to a few of the names mentioned but out of hope they'd do well rather than excitement.

I just think as a club not progressing in our ideas or ways of operating and constantly recycling managers is a (small) part of that.

I can't name a team in world football that has looked back as much as us in terms of management over the last 25 years.
