From the top 10 in the odds list currently, there’s only 1 name I’m excited about and it’s Ange.

Its gone so far under the radar so it will come out of nowhere and be Gary O'Neil.

No way does Celtic pay any compensation for any in work managers. They will go for the "freebie"

Whoever comes in, this will show us the level of the boards ambition. After everything thats happend and other competitors across different countries, this is this board final act.

They may try and get Knutsen to placate the fans, only to shaft Knutsen when he starts demanding "too much".

Not really read into this Hayen manager.

Been all over the place with management for over 10 years going from Belgium, Saudi and Wales.

Bizarre career but nonetheless appears to be one that is really lifting off since returning to Brugge in 2022.

Question is, is his career growth over the last few years down to him and his own management abilities or more down to a club who appear to one of those examples of really trying to change and modernise how they operate and so can his success transfer with him to a new club?

Like ten Hag at Ajax - where it appears success was largely down to the running of the club as hes done * all else since leaving there.

Same risk with Knutsen - is he only so good because the club is run extraordinarily well?

I just dont see why guys like Hayen or Knutsen would ever come to Celtic... our board in our own relative sense are about as much of a basket case as * Man Utd.

I understand the views of Hayen. He won the league coming in during the end of the season and had them win 9 and draw 1 in the championship round. Last season second and currently second.

Agree totally about Hayen. No way he comes here, sadly. Given the structural changes he would (rightly) require we make, I also find it hard to believe our board even want him. I don't think your take on Knutsen is quite right, though.

Firstly, staying at Bodo as long as he has would make no sense for a manager with all the usual ambitions. So he clearly has unusual motivations driving him. Secondly, I really think our geographical position so close to Scandinavia relative to most of our competition for his signature might be more of a draw than we realise.

Just as importantly, I can actually see our board going for this. He can clearly work well on a budget and would bring a more modern approach without permanent structural changes, new posts created and so on (things that risk a loss of control from our board's point of view). I think our board might view this as a way to have their cake and eat it.

TL,DR: I'd prefer Hayen myself (because I want all those structural changes!), but I agree he'd be mad to come here and I doubt our board would want him anyway. Knutsen, however, I see as a possibility.

This is where the chickens come home to roost for the BRENDAN OUT mob. The ones who fell for the hoax.

The list doesn’t look appetising and we’re almost certainly downgrading unless Marco Rose comes out of the woodwork.

The number 1 and absolutely most important thing a Celtic manager needs is aura.

    None whatsoever.

Unless he were seen leaving Dermot Desmond's mansion with a mysterious suitcase and then just happened to start buying up half his hometown and townhouses in fashionable areas of Brugge, Brussels, Paris, London plus a nice pad in New York. Then I could see us landing him.

Don't think they'd even bother entertaining anyone with a list of requirements.

Knutsen has turned down big opportunities apparently due to the fact he makes commission on transfer activity at Bodo and has made himself a small fortune as a result. There is just no way he passes that up to come to us. We won't allow him to make a killing on transfers and we won't alter or recruitment to suit him. So I don't think for a second that we could entice him here or that he'd be interested. Him and Hayen are as unlikely as Klopp for me and best left in the realms of fantasy.

That doesn't mean he's not going to sign or be offered a new one.

None of our competitors will offer him that either. Thing is, if he's as motivated by money as it seems, we can actually be quite attractive. If it's done in performance bonuses rather than salary, we can afford to make a pretty tempting offer to him.
