I don't think there's anything funny in our situation to warrant that, @Notorious

You never know, bigger names could come in and fail, and we saw a stupid amount of negativity about Ange being a nobody from Japan when he was linked, some folk basically writing him off without knowing a thing about him.

Ange also impressed in a World Cup and won Australia's first Asian Cup.

I wouldn’t rule that out by DD… just to spite us.

They’d only need to change the date and send it out.

You own fault for living in fantasy land. None of the 3 of them were ever happening. Need to be mental to think we'd ever go for a dirty * like Muscat. The other 2 are way out of our reach despite what anyone on here says.

    Knutsen is underwhelming?

If people aren’t happy with him they’d be happy with nobody.

As for Nancy, it isn’t a terrible idea but he’s a system coach and we don’t have the players at present for his preferred formation.

Would need to be massively backed in January.

I think you're being unrealistic. They've got our season ticket money and our EL ticket money. There's no reason for them to leave and they can't be forced out. The only thing that changes that is fans not buying STs next year.
If someone like Knutsen comes in he would hopefully insist on the necessary changes or he walks. That's the only way things change in the short term.

Could be saddled with the biggest spanner of all time though if we don’t get rid of that Lawwell *.

    A world class spanner.

I’m taking it that the protests will continue and will escalate if Lawwell doesn’t get out and if changes aren’t implemented. The more Neil Lennon complains on TNT about it the better.

Thinking is not enough, we need to be sure.

We don't want to be going through the same rigmarole that the Huns have gone through with a procession of failed managers. Ange was out of left field, it was a big risk, fortunately it worked out for us at the end of the day. Nancy is another dark horse. I'm not a gambler, I don't think we should roll the dice again and hope another dark horse will come up trumps. I think we need an established and experienced manager, especially if we want to get anywhere in the Champions League.

It's not a fantasy mate, it's realism. We are either a big club, or you can fantasise we are small fry.

Hayen, Knutsen and Muscat should be well within our range and scope, considering our long standing and illustrious European pedigree and record. If Muscat is the preferred candidate, it should be * all to do with his persuasion or background.

Why sell yourself short ? That is small time thinking.

I was initially positive about Nancy as I think a bit of youth like that injected at managerial level will progress the club as a whole but just looking at Columbus Crew's 3 last seasons while he's been there it looks like they're on the decline? Finished 2nd last season and they're 7th this season.

Admittedly don't have much context on them beyond this so I'm not saying it's mismanagement or anything, I'm just unsure on what it is that's drawing the boards attention in the first place.

Muscat might he in our range, but as a former Rangers player its never going to be a viable option.

As I've said Knutsen and Hayen are absolute fantasy that are never going to happen. We are not some elite standing European club that can attract the best managers in the game. We are run shockingly and no manager with any sense is going to look at this season and get excited by coming in here. Nor are they going to leave a club playing Champions League football to come here. It is absolutely fantasy nonsense. You might as well get it out your head as you'll be set up for nothing but disappointment if you don't start grounding your expectations.

    Not really.

We were tussling with the likes of Bayern Munich and Aston Villa only last year, and gave them a real run for their money, and just came up short. I'm sure there are managers like the ones I have mentioned, who would see that and recognise that, as a forward base and challenge, to make Celtic a worthy competitive team in the Champions League once more. And the three I have mentioned, Muscat, Hayen and Knutsen, might see it as an off ramp for the Premier League too.

That's grounded in reality. Is it not ?.What's wrong with that ?.
