We all know we need to revamp the entire club, but we still need to get the best manager possible.

We do but I think the point is that getting the best manager possible won't mean a thing if those above him continue to work in the same manner. I'd also argue that we are limiting ourselves from attracting the best manager possible, because of how we operate.

After all this, Desmond will drift off into the night again only to return when things go sour and start this process all over. We will no doubt have another few dodgy windows where targets are missed and the wrong profile of player signed.

Nicholson gets to continue in his role despite being entirely useless and unqualified. Still haven't heard from him btw. Lawwell is...lawwell.

The board will continue to ignore fans and not restructure or modernise. They'll force a backroom team of Mark Fotheringham and Stephen McManus on the new manager.

I just don't see it changing and it's slowly draining any excitement I have for a managerial change.

Knutsen is now favourite at the bookies. Think this could be a good move. Let him finish the season with Bodo, come over here and assess the squad etc. while leaving Martin in charge until the cup final. Then he has a couple of weeks to see how the current squad fits his style before the transfer window opens.

I agree wholeheartedly in that we need massive structural changes immediately. But I think it's defeatist to be like "There's no point Knutsen or Hayen if x, y and z doesn't happen".

So what then, should we get a Damien Duff or Robbie Keane and be done with it? Better yet, just keep Maloney on?

We need to modernise and improve literally every facet of the club. We're an absolute joke right now. But I have more faith in that happening if we have a progressive, proven manager in the dugout.

Even if those much needed changes don't happen, I'd still rather have the best possible coach moving forward.

We know but the directors seem to be in denial. That's the problem.

Aye this is where im at.

I understand people want changes at the top, but saying there's no point in a Hayen or Knutsen is plain wrong. If the board appointed Duff, Keane or Maloney there would be riots, and rightfully so.

We should still be striving for a top manager even with the mess above.

If it’s Knutsen surely they are giving him license to revamp recruitment and youth set up, imagine he’d take a few with him from Bodo in terms of a DoF. Please do it right Celtic.

    This last paragraph is alarming.

It is not acceptable that the much needed changes don’t happen at board level. Putting a manager in before the board structure is modernised is cart before the horse.

Let MON and/or Maloney take the manager role for the season if necessary and then with a new structure in place at the club go and get a football manager for the team. Anything else is a cod and the fans who have campaigned on this won’t accept the carry on of the current board to continue.

It’s plain wrong to appoint anyone in the football manager role without modernising the personnel at board level and structures at the club. You won’t get a good manager until it’s sorted.

Getting shot of Kennedy is a positive step in that regard. If they kept Kennedy on it would have been a cert he would have been foisted on to any incoming manager

When they reappointed Rodgers we all thought; “surely the issues of communication between the board and manager regarding recruitment and transfers will be addressed and resolved otherwise why would Rodgers agree to come back…etc..” It wasn’t resolved though. Lawwell and his pals were still meddling in things that they’re not qualified to handle.

Nope. It might even start out ok if say Knutsen took over but it would soon go back to the dysfunctional way that Lawwell and co. have operated the club for so long.

    They must go first.

Surely this time will be different, even Desmond knows * needs to change though he wont admit it publicly.

Plus I doubt Knutsen would come here without control over everything along with the people of his choosing.

    Maybe I’m just too optimistic.

To be fair with Kennedy he’s highly talked about by every manager and player that’s worked with him but we definitely need new faces and ideas in.

No, we saw him talk about the system in place and that it had developed and he was happy with it. There was never an idea of Rodgers coming in and shaking things up.

I don’t think it will be different if the personnel and the culture isn’t changed. It might even start off ok for the first window or two but it will go back to the same old failings soon enough.

Desmond is probably staying around as largest shareholder. All we can hope is that (without saying it) he won’t stand in the way of the modernising and the changes to personnel and culture that’s required.

His pride won’t let him admit that the fans protests did help force change if that’s what is achieved from all this. So long as that change happens he can say or not say whatever the * he likes.

There was a list of people that should have exited the club before Kennedy. Top of the list being Lawwell.

So they say mate. Any new manager is highly unlikely though to come in and voice displeasure at having to work with Kennedy or anyone else for that matter. I'm just hoping that with Kennedy gone and hopefully Lawell and Nicholson to follow we may see a positive and harmonious set up built with taking us forward in mind.
