He nearly always back tracks in those scenarios. He is a poor footballer that has probably got further in his career than anyone would have expected for his ability.

He seems like a good guy but the drop off from Johnston to him is just way too big.

I’m one of his biggest fans but that was his worst display in a Celtic top tonight.

Backing off and ushering players instead of committing came into his game under Rodgers and it’s the worst possible thing you could do for him that.

 

He’s a dreadful footballer. Can’t fault his effort and desire but * me.

 

Taylor used to do the same and it did my box in. I remember conceding a goal against Atletico as he refused to challenge someone 30 yards outside our box and just let him keep coming forward

 

Hes physically limited in the sense hes as slow as a week in jail. Its like watching a player nearing 40 with zero fast acceleration. Anyone with a short burst of pace can get by him. I like him. Hes done well with what hes got, its just we can do so much better.

He’s definitely raw still but his running and crossing were very good against Graz and he was doing everything defensively himself since Nygren done * all tracking back.

He’s not going to get a better chance for game time with AJ out, putting the young boys in for a game here or there will only do more damage to them than actually giving them a run of games.

I missed the game and just saw the highlights but geniunely what is he doing for those first two goals? Engels is equally poor for the second but twice he basically does nothing.

The other thing that stands out and it did against Rangers too, our back post defending is awful particularly when the cross comes from the right. Teams always seem to have 3v1s back there.
