Mind seeing him on sky sports with his Mum talking being big huns while he was making his Killie breakthrough a few year ago.

We've signed plenty of Huns in the past, and they've been brilliant for us.

Watson will be no different. Focus on the player's abilities, not his background.

There a link to that? Sure I read he was a big Tim and his family. Might even have been on a hun forum :56:

I remember talking about him earlier in the summer window and how it seemed like the relative hype surrounding him had died down, particularly in comparison to Lennon Miller, but it seems like it’s starting bubble up again. We should always be trying to snap up any young, promising Scottish talent; it’s something that clubs comparable to our own tend to do.

While we desperately need an injection of quality that can go straight in to the starting XI, we could be doing with bringing in a decent core of young(er) Scottish guys to the squad as well. Many of them already have decent experience with our domestic bread & butter, there’s the obvious potential with room to develop and at least some of them are likely to stick around longer term, providing a bit of stability.

We should be all over it. The type of player he is, is exactly what our midfield lacks. All action box to box and puts himself about. Chips in with goals also.

Don't care who he supported if he's willing to sign the contract with us then he can't be that bad.

Same things said about Lewis Ferguson and folk didn't want to sign him. Should have at the time.

Would say that I've not been as impressed with Watson as others but I'd definitely take him. He's also the kind of player I could see going to the Huns and being a complete and utter * for years to come.

Not that I know but I had heard it suggested that wasn’t the case. I had always assumed he would be and if so you would imagine he will end up there if they want him.

Not that it matters but if you Google him and them, there's a thread on FF where, after a bit of back & forth they deduce that he's a Tim. The 2 main reasons being.. he went to Queen Margaret Academy (RC school I presume) & someone's mate knows his 'bird' and confirmed he's def a Tim. Make of that what you will.

Anyhoo, I think he would put some badly needed aggression and bite in to our midfield and I'm all for it.

Be a decent signing for the Huns, not a Celtic midfielder. If the U21 Portugal captain can’t get a run then he certainly won’t.

I couldn't imagine David Watson getting bullied by anybody. He's a rough house.

If McCowan can get game time, I see no reason why Watson wouldn't.

I'd 100% take him. I've been impressed whenever I've seen him. One of those players that will be annoying to the opposition.

    Bit different.

    We both need homegrown players.

    ... So they'd go for a Belgian.

We'd have said the same about Ferguson and Hickey before they went to Italy. And then they went to Italy...

Ability wise fair enough but profile wise, why would you bring David Watson on 1-0 down with half an hour to go at home to St Mirren 9/10?

Makes himself a handful. Wouldn't be against signing him.

What annoys me though is who is signing this off then? Dermott said a matter of two weeks ago that the manager signs these off. Well, we don't even have a full time manager right now. So, a club signing that any new manager will be forced to manage.
