Hard to believe Knutsen will ever leave there, linked with hundreds of jobs so don't know why this would be different.

No shame in losing against a decent Monaco side.

But thats two games in a row he lost with nearly double the possession, shots, shots on target and corners than the opposition.

If he does leave I'd be amazed if it'd be to us, still.

He's even more sought after than Hayen, surely. Wilfred Nancy seems more believable knowing us.

There seems to be this notion that Knutsen is going to be an almost guaranteed success wherever he goes. I'd be wary of him just as easily repeating his achievements elsewhere. There's something of the 'perfect fit' with him & Bodo I feel. He's been at them a long time now, firstly as their assistant manager and he's been allowed to build something. That patience is thin on the ground at some of the clubs he's been linked with, including us.

Think MON is too smart to take the job on full time.
He’s already a legend at Celtic, and this short stint has only heightened his status. He’ll have seen what happened to Lennon and BR when things go bad, don’t think he wants to risk his legacy.

Maybe until the end of the season, he has nothing to lose this year, but can’t see him wanting to go any further than that!

Muscat is pish in the AFC champions league, they're last, not convincing in the league either. I don't want him, not that I've seen any actual links to him either

Knutsen said the other day he was ready for a new challenge. Seen an article saying the last thing he had to achieve was getting Bodo to the CL and he wants to see that campaign out. Think now is the time to ask the question for sure. I’d maybe even leave MON until the end of the season and ask Knutsen to get involved after Bodo exit the CL with the view of taking over at the end of the season. It would still allow him to be here and see what he has and where he ways to improve the squad.

The Craig Bellamy chat is growing and it scares the * out of me. Would literally be the worst option we could go for. Might as well bring back Neil * Lennon.

    simply can't be true.

I understand some reservations about Knutsen, but reservations about any other candidate should be greater, particularly those who insist on possession football. This is because we have had our mini-rebirth by moving away from a clear football philosophy. Any return towards ideas Rodgers preferred could be catastrophic, be it through Nancy, Bellamy or Hayen.

I think Nancy might be a great appointment. At least he have won something and his career is on the up but Bellamy would make as much sense as hiring a electrician. He have no experience in managing what so ever except Wales.

    Totally agree.

It’s a very unique situation with him and Bodo. Definitely not guaranteed that he’d be anywhere near as successful elsewhere.

Knutsen’s deal expires in December and by the sounds of it he isn’t signing a new one. I read the same article, on CL they play Juve and Dortmund in their next two games and have Man City and Atletico Madrid in January. I think he will do the next two games; they will be out at that point and his contract will expire. I doubt he will be a Bodo to the summer.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Bodo replaced him internally as their assistant was Tromso’s manager until a year or two ago. You have to think some succession planning promises would have been on the cards or why would a guy leave a managers job to be assistant?

As the manager, no. He was no. 2 under Vincent Kompany at Burnley though and look where Kompany is now. A lot of positive talk about how much he's impacted players where he's worked so far. I get that its a small sample size and not enough to justify a job as massive as Celtic, but much like player potential we have to try identify these guys before they're out of our reach.

Iraola a good example of a guy we were gonna offer the job to before getting Rodgers. He's now on every top club's watchlist after doing unreal things with Bournemouth.

I said exactly the same thing the other day as well, but if he would take the job then you have to go for him in my opinion. The job he has done with Bodo is incredible. Any manager is a gamble.

There’s no guarantee any manager will be a success to be fair. If Knutsen wants the job then I think you have to give him a shot at it and hope he can replicate what he has done at Bodo.

You think DD is giving MON till the international week, then offering him the job?!

Great short term, but long-term, I'm against it.

Nicky Hayen latest comments on when quizzed about the Celtic job are interesting

“I haven't thought about it for a second. I have someone who looks after my interests and who knows exactly when to inform me. That's not on the agenda yet.”

I’m starting to wonder if there is something in this now and he knows there is interest , the knows when to inform me part seems like we’ve made let his agent know we might want to speak with him
