Fact Rodgers gave him more time than osmand shows how utter clueless he was.

If MON doesn’t play hin or Inamura whoever sanctioned them both should be sacked. Don’t care if they didn’t cost much.

Yep i have always defended Shin and seen him as our most promising striker, but if MON don't rate him i trust that. I did not trust BR for obvious reasons.

Osmand is to promising to put down the pecking order. I would look to ship Yamada on in January to free up some space.

Maloney backed Shin yesterday. He's not been put in yet, but he will. Kenny and Osmand are just being given priority, quite rightly.

    Nice try @murphy88

He didn’t even make the bench at the weekend. That’s before Iheanacho comes back into the fold, which I think he will.

And how clueless a lot of fans are it seems given they were screaming for Shin. There was folk losing their mind when him and Inamura didn’t make the EL squad.

Wee Shaun talking about him yesterday

I think when we're discussing the bench and between him and Shin [Yamada], and Shin's definitely got attributes as well that can help this team

Rodgers management of the available squad was shocking and clearly unrelated to any assessment of the individual player so not sure what you are looking for given personnel have changed and we are clearly better.

Just funny how Shin’s thread was near at the top of the list after every match and there were plenty fans saying it was down to Rodgers ego etc etc. Well Shin still isn’t getting a sniff now but his page had disappeared. Think it just points out how much fans had a personal problem with Rodgers and were just looking for any excuse to have a go.

Callum Osmand kinda * all over that argument tho.
He was clearly good enough and wasn't getting a look in bcoz he was a "club signing".

So technically the support were right, we just backed the wrong frozen out striker

As someone said previously, the board essentially forced Rodgers to work with one hand tied behind his back and in turn Rodgers put the other hand in his pocket out of spite.

Osmand looks promising. Not getting carried away just yet but signs are good. Folk were raging because Kenny was getting picked over Shin. I’m assuming the last few games kinda * over that argument also?

Nah, different managers, different styles. A player with Shins reported attributes would probably have been a better fit than Kenny in Rodgers team. However Kenny is now thriving in a more direct style that better suits his game.

Mate, let’s be honest. The boy Shin is probably just no good enough, that’s the reality of the situation. Folk were just getting their knickers in a twist because it was something to have a pop at Rodgers over. The fact he isn’t even making the bench would suggest he is miles off it. Because that’s with Iheanacho still out the fold, who you would imagine will also be ahead of Shin.

Rodgers didn’t ever describe Osmand as a club signing either I don’t think.

Yeah your probably right and think there is a bit of both in it in that Rodgers wanted higher quality players which is fair enough but he also point blankly refused to even entertain the guys the board brought in who may have been able to do a job.

Your right he never referred to Osmand as a club signing but his refusal to even have him in squads now looks like a poor judgement call.

Still feel there is likely a player in Pusey too but he may need to wait longer for an opportunity

Think it really highlights just how much of a mess we are off the park. Manager and board should be working together, not against each other. Agree regarding Osmand. From what we’ve seen so far, it appears he should have seen more minutes than he has, especially given how lacking we are in the attacking part of the pitch.

Why do you take such an exception to this mate? Genuine question, seems to get your goat when people say a bad word about him.

    Technically the support were wrong.

I got slaughtered here (probably including you) for having the temerity to suggest people were being knee * and extremely harsh on Johnny Kenny. There was a myriad of posters calling him rubbish, nowhere near Celtic standard, Scottish Championship level etc and they were mostly the same posters who were crying out for Yamada to be starting.

The point I was made is Kenny has played relatively few minutes for us, he was getting 10 or 15 minutes off the bench in games last season, started 1 game v Aberdeen and scored. He's a young player with the ability to get much better and we should hold fire judging him until he gets a run of games. He had a decent pre season for us too and it's clear he had some good attributes and a good attitude.

Yamada was being talked up by people who had barely seen him play as being way better than Kenny and it was sacrilege he was being ignored instead of the likes of Kenny.

Osmand is a complete unknown, he's actually much better than I would have thought given he didn't have a senior competitive appearance this time last week at nearly 20 and was not capped by Wales at u21 level, someone has since covered that he is no longer eligible for Wales which might clear that up.

Our support deal in extremes, you're rubbish or you're great. There's no balance to it.

I'm not writing Yamada off but the signs aren't good at present. He does seem powerful and a real penalty box striker but I have to say I am very alarmed at how slow he looked against Hearts given the fact people were talking about him being a speed demon. He looks way slower than Kenny or Osmand for example.

Similarly enough we had players hyping up Kelechi after a few fairly average outings.

Kenny and Osmand should have the jersey now so it could be difficult for either Kelechi and Yamada to get their chance. You would expect one of them will be out the door in January if Kenny and Osmand keep up their current form.

Yeah 100% agree but sadly think it was always gonna be the case with Rodgers and Lawwell. Clearly old issues were there and reared their head again.
Him returning was a strange move from both sides but brought us short term success so can't complain too much.

It goes back to the fact we allow a minority shareholder to do as he pleases. Don't think Lawwell or anyone on the day to day side of the club would have wanted Rodgers back given problems with him previously but they just bend over and let Desmond do as he wants
