That's just it: it's a loser frame of mind and I hope they can suck the new manager into it

I agree. At the time, before a replay I was screaming for a red card. It was so obvious only the ref and VAR couldn’t see it or didn’t want to. Ok so here’s the real problem in my opinion. The ref will miss things he’s human and a Hun but, VAR should never get anything wrong if they know the rules. Him continually stopping us taking quick free kicks etc will only stop if we speak up, some chance of that.

How about how long it took officials blow the whistle leading to Kasper going nuts and practically booting the goal post

Celtic will use the SFA’s official process to ask for answers over two major refereeing calls from Sunday’s League Cup semi-final win over Rangers.

CeltsAreHere understands the club will seek clarity on Derek Cornelius’ tackle on Johnny Kenny and the late penalty given to Rangers during normal time.

The game ended 3-1 to Celtic after extra time, but several key moments from the 90 minutes have caused debate.

The first flashpoint came midway through the first half when Rangers defender Derek Cornelius was shown only a yellow card for a dangerous challenge on Johnny Kenny. The Canadian appeared to go in with both feet, catching the striker.

We understand Celtic are frustrated that the incident wasn’t deemed serious foul play, given the force and risk involved. Former officials have since suggested Cornelius was lucky to stay on the pitch, with some describing the tackle as “excessive” and “endangering an opponent.”

The second major moment came towards the end of the 90 minutes, when Rangers were awarded a penalty after the ball hit Anthony Ralston’s arm in the box. Replays clearly showed the full-back being pushed by Bojan Miovski just before the handball, but VAR did not step in to overturn the call. James Tavernier scored from the spot to level the game at 1-1 and take it into extra time.

Celtic went on to win thanks to extra-time goals from Callum McGregor and Callum Osmand, but there is still frustration over the inconsistent officiating. The SFA’s review process allows clubs to submit formal questions about decisions and VAR involvement, and Celtic intend to do so in the coming days.

The club will ask for detailed feedback on both incidents, focusing on why VAR did not recommend stronger action against Cornelius and why the push on Ralston was ignored as well as the placement of his arm.

Celtic are also expected to point out the inconsistency between this tackle and other red-card challenges seen this season, as well as the decision to award a penalty for the handball against Ralston despite clear contact from Bojan Miovski in the build-up.

Although the victory sends them into another cup final, Celtic want clearer refereeing standards in major matches. While Rangers have turned to grandstanding on issues where they feel aggrieved, Celtic are using the proper channels and guidelines to seek answers without it becoming a circus.

They now turn their attention to Thursday’s Europa League clash away to FC Midtjylland, but questions over the Hampden officiating are unlikely to fade any time soon.

The poor quality of refereeing across the board often flies under the radar because of the partisan nature of Scottish football. When decisions go for one club rather than the other, we see two sides of the decision going at each other instead of holding the officials to account and asking for better in our game.

Excellent move/news. The Conelius decision is the worst one of the game . An absolute stick on red card by the rules of the game and by the eye test . Late , extreme force , studs first , flat foot planted above the ankle. A leg breaker and inexplicable that VAR didn't upgrade.

They’ve released a statement about Trusty on Butland when the centre half on Kenny was easily worse, in fact it was the worse challenge of the entire game including the sending off. Dirty, dirty, challenge.

So much went on that not enough has been made of Chermiti kicking out at our player after a header with the ball nowhere near. Never even got to see a single replay. Dirty rotten *.
